Which would you choose? We will be staying at the BCV so obviously the Yachtsman will be easier to get too. We will have our car so getting to the AKL won't be difficult either.

Both sound really great. :confused3 I am just torn between the two. :confused3

We've eaten at both restaurants, but IMPO Jiko is one of the top 3 restaurants on property. We especially enjoy sitting at the counter at Jiko and watching them prepare appetizers. :paw:

We ate at the Yachtsman in Dec and weren't too terribly impressed. It wasn't bad, just wasn't worth what it cost. The steak was very tender, but not very flavorful.

Hands down for Jiko

Better Food
Nicer Decor
Harder to find food at home
Great staff
Very good wine list

And after all it is at the AKL ::yes::

cheers

This is a tough one for me. We have eaten at the Yachtsman every single trip since they opened and would not dream of skipping it. But, we love Jiko, too.

I think the service is great at both as is the food. I think it depends on the experience you want. At Jiko, the food is a bit more original .. the dishes not ones you will find just anywhere. If you have a really good steak house in your hometown, I would go with Jiko.

Jiko gets my vote. I ate at both on my trip in Dec. Yachtsman, I just wasn't very impressed with the food. The server was very pleasant though.

Jiko was a much nicer atmosphere, both the food and service were outstanding. I will be going back to Jiko.

Jiko sounds like the hands down winner. I just wanted a nice place for our anniversary dinner.

If you are looking for a good steak dinner, then I would suggest Shula's.....

I have not eaten at the Yachtsman but have heard mixed review and for that reason have not tried it.

I thought Jiko's was good, I have not eaten there lately. Sometimes I am a been there done that type of eater for some restaurants. In this case though I would suggest Jiko's if you have not eaten there before.

Although I've never eaten at Yachtsman, I ate at Jiko's in November, and it's now my favorite. The halibut with sweet potato crispies are my personal favorite.

Ssssssshhhhhhhhhhush.........let's keep Jiko's a secret so it doesn't get busier. :teeth: IMO it is the best restaurant at Disney, with the exception fo V&A's.

My family ate at Jiko's last week and despite the fact that we were looking forward to the experience, none of us felt it was worth the cost. Our waiter was downright unfriendly and the food was only so-so, except my husband loved the vegetable entree.

For a special dinner, I would highly recommend the California Grill instead.

They are both great! You can't go wrong with either. :) They are different but both very good. We had wonderful service and wonderful food at both. If I had to only do one, it would be Jiko but honestly you will have a great meal at either.

DW always orders the veggie entree - it is a big serving so we always get a lunch out of it to go as well

I couldn't have said it better myself. The hype around Jiko's along with a good, but not great meal was a big let down for us. We love CG and have never been disappointed there.

JIKO...haven't eaten at Yachtsman but love Jiko...just wish the pomegranate quail was still on the menu.

the ambience is lovely...our server was wonderful and the food absolutely heavenly. It's a must for every trip now!
