I would like some of your imput on whats the best on the menu , what is a must have, when you go ,we have ADR for next sunday the 6 th looking foward to it

Well--I'm a big fan of the BBQ Chicken/Kenya Coffeee flatbread appetizer. And the Berbere braised Lamb Shank as an entree. For dessert--Jiko Sorbet, which is Green Apple and Buttermilk Yogurt, served with Grannysmith Apple cake!!
Oh--and a Tusker beer, of course!!!

We have tried many things from the Jiko menu, not a loser in the bunch. All have been delicious.

Hubby, like Uncle Rom likes the lamb shank. I love the filet with the mac/cheese. Our friends also love the lamb shank and chicken.

The appetizer sampler platter was a great deal for the 4 of us.

Wonderful wine list.

The Zebratini is great for dessert if you are too full to have a food item.

Just go and relax. This is a sit back, enjoy time between the courses type of place. No rushing here.

I was not impressed with the beef ribs - not really flavorful enough - and too much meat, not enough veggies (I'd been sold on the idea of sweet potatoes au gratin, and found them disappointing). My husband loved the steak.

The pistachio creme brulee was "just ok"

Some of my favorites have been the BBQ chicken flatbread, the Taste of Africa, duck and pork firecrackers, chermoula chicken, the Jiko sorbet, and the pistachio creme brulee - the creme brulee is fantastic.

You must try some wine there, as they have the best South African wine list in the country. Though I'm partial to the Tusker beer as well

We like the appetizers better than the entrees, in general, so when we go we usually do an appetizer sampler, a flatbread, dessert (or the dessert sampler if we're feeling naughty), and drinks.

The filet with Mac and Cheese (yes, and it's outstanding) is my favorite there. Taste of Africa and the Firecracker appetizers are excellent. Just hosted a business dinner there for 10 people and it was outstanding.

The kalamata flatbread is delicious.

I loved the monkfish with vegetables of the moment and beurre blanc last year. I don't think Jiko serves monkfish any longer, but if they have that treatment of another fish on the menu, I bet it would be good!

DH, looking over my shoulder, recommends the filet with macaroni and cheese. He says it was a good aged cheddar, and there is a balsamic sauce that really makes the dish.

The wine list is really good, also.

Yum...18 days until my next dinner at Jiko!

The BBQ chicken flatbread was to die for! Sooooo yummy!

I also really enjoyed the filet w/mac and cheese.
