Can a person wear jewelry though airport security?
I don't mean huge amounts of jewelry; I just mena a ring or two, earrings etc.
I ask because I have a smallish mother's ring I wear all the time, and it doesn't fit quite as well as it might anymore. Taking it off requires copious applications of liquid dish-soap, and a lot of OUCH.
If I wear it through security, and it sets off a metal detector of some sort (would it? it is small, do they even detect that much?) will I have to try to take it off? Or will I be able to say to the nice TSA person, look its my ring, here on my finger... and would that be enough for them? I guess I could soap it off before I left home and put it in a pocket or something, but I would be afraid to lose it.
Any experiences with rings, and security?
