during the time we're in orlando, spaceX will have a launch...
DS really really really wants to see it..
he says that you can see the launch and the first stage rocket landing from jetty park..
i know that's near port canaveral, but that's all i know...

has anyone been to jetty park?
is it difficult to get to?
do i get there the same as to the port?

.

There is a Jetty Park campground at PC, do you mean that?
We like to go to Grills Tiki bar just a few hundred yards away, really easy to get to. See if this works.

yes, i think that's what i mean...
do you pay an entrance fee to get into the area? it seems fishlips is in that area..

i hope we can do it...
in all our times in orlando, we've never managed to see a launch..
i bought tickets for a space shuttle launch years ago, but the launch was delayed to a month later so we didn't get to see it...

i just got directions on that map from SSR to the park...
just like driving to DCL, except instead of turning left to the disney terminal, i go straight ahead to the park...looks pretty easy

Yes it is very close to the ships. The new Royal Caribbean Terminal is right next to Grills, we have not been since it was completed. Should have been there last year but had to stay in Orlando due to a hurricane. No fees as far as I know, we park at Grills free but never been down to Jetty park, can't see they would charge anywhere around there. And yes Fishlips is also there, never been in but walked past it many times.

i checked the port schedule for that day to see if any ships in port....the carnival liberty will be there...
if memory serves, carnival is on the north side of the port...but i think it'll still be nice for the little ones to see a big cruise ship..
too bad it won't be of of the disney ships..
..

We have always planned a visits there around a Disney departure, never any launches. For Shuttle launches we used to goto Space view park http://spacelaunchinfo.com/spaceview/

there are better locations than jetty park for launches (like titusville), but this also has a landing, and supposedly jetty park is good for the landing part of the event since the landing is only 6 miles from the park (while the launch is 13 miles away)..

hopefully, there won't be much cloud cover - certainly not a sure thing in orlando!!

.

i'm hoping the whole thing will be interesting...seeing other people there to watch the launch, the port, the ship, etc..
