Jetski at Castaway Cay

How cool! We are close to booking a cruise and I have been dying to try jetskiing since we moved to a lake community. This might be the opportunity to give it a go and convince DH we need one (or two!) Thanks!

Just be aware jet-skiing on the ocean can be a different experience than jet-skiing on a lake.

We did the jet skiing at Castaway a few times in the past and I can definitely back @PrincessShmoo up on this point. We started our excursions on the beach near Castaway Rays, headed out of the lagoon past the cruise ship, turned right and went parallel to the lagoon rock barrier until we reached the Serenity Bay end of the island. We then turned right again, headed past Serenity Bay, and eventually stopped on a small beach area that is not accessible to guests except by water. The water near Serenity Bay was quite calm each time we went and we were able to go full throttle in that area and really enjoyed it. The trip from Castaway Rays to Serenity Bay was a different story! One time it was fairly calm, the second time it was a bit rough, but the third time there were some pretty significant waves with white caps. My older son was on one jet ski and I was on another with his younger brother on the back. We literally were bouncing from one wave to another, and my older son and I both ended up with blisters on our thumbs where we were hanging on so tightly to the handlebar grips of our jet skis. My younger son wasn’t thrilled with the ride and wanted me to slow down, but that only led to us having waves crashing over the front of the jet ski. After we finished our excursion, they cancelled the rest of the jet skiing for that day as the conditions were just too rough. A couple of weeks ago when we were at Castaway Cay, they were supposed to have jet skiing available, but heavy clouds and some thunder in the area resulted in it being cancelled along with quite a few other excursions that required them to leave the island and go out onto the ocean.

Well, dang, looks like I need to book a CC excursion instead of exploring the new ship. Hmmm....

I saw them parking the jet ski boats on Thursday they had about 10 of them.
