Jetblue's next fare release date - March 15th

Just booked our thanksgiving trip !! $130 pp each way from JFK-MCO

Can definitely live with that price, being that the flight that we booked on thanksgiving day is now
Up to $198 !!!

I will be interested to watch the prices for our Christmas week trip.....I'm betting they double (or worse!) by the time our travel dates roll around.

I've been checking our Dec 25 - January 3 flights on Jet blue. From Westchester County over 1000 pp and from JFK around $622 per person. I feel like crying.

Thanks for this headsup! Booked my flights out of Boston, $274 RT very happy with that!!!

Hey guys! quick question semi related to this thread..... we booked jet blue non stop out of boston for the week before thankskgiving, we did this the day the fares released 3/15 within minutes of the release lol. We are so happy with our fare BUT the other 8 of our party had to wait because of a personal issue but are ready to book now and even were the following day but by the following day fares skyrocketed! Even now they are up even more for our flight. Everyones a bit sad because for us flying together is truly important.

Anyways- Does anyone think these fares will come back down? Ive seen this happen before in 2013 and they did come way back down to what we purchased but right now they are $200 more then what we paid, which is just too much for the others. Tried looking up patterns to see if these fares will come back down but couldn't find much and was trying to rack my brain and could've sworn when I watched them in 2013 they went up after release but then went back down about a week or two after climbing for a bit....... any insight???

also side question to my other- are bags still free on jet blue or atleast 1 bag? We are flying nov 2015.. I'm getting mixed reviews that 1 is still free, some say yes some say no?

Bags were still free on my last flight (feb 2015).
Prices do come down but there is never a guarantee. On JetBlue if you book and the flight drops more then $75 you can call and they will credit the amount over $75. They used to refund any price drop but not any more :(

I currently use yapta.com it will email you went the price drops.

Good luck I hope they get a good price!

Thanks so much this gives us some hope we can all fly together! By chance is there any history of pattern when our flight price might go back down? Or is that just at random?

Honestly I'm not sure... People say Tuesday's have the cheapest flights (they drop on Tuesdays) and I have a friend who swears they go down about 2/3 months out but I try to book as early as possible because I hate not knowing....

We booked our flights on Sunday (the day they were released) and our fares are already up by $49 pp.

We have only had Jetblue fares go down once after booking (by $20 each). The rest of the time, they have only ever increased in price. I definitely don't expect our Christmas week fares to go down.....the last time we flew at the holidays (Christmas 2012), prices almost tripled by our travel dates (after booking in July).

Jetblue is still offering the first checked bag free. Their last report was that the tiered fares (where the initial tier has no baggage included, the second tier will have one checked bag included, and the third tier will include two checked bags) would be introduced in the summer. Anything purchased before then should be grandfathered under the rules in effect at the time of purchase.

Anyone know if it says anywhere on their website when they plan to release the next round of fares? Or at the least know how much in advance they usually announe when they will release fares? We're looking for Feb 2016 (President's week). We usually fly SW, but if JB has reasonable flights when they are first released, we would definitely consider that (espeically since we live a stone's throw from JFK).

There's no way to know. If JB doesn't sell seats, the fares will go down. If seats are selling, then no reason for them to lower fares. I know a lot of people say that fares come down a few months prior to travel date, but I've never seen it happen. I've had JB fares come down, but not by much...maybe $20 for a Boston to Orlando flight.

For anyone waiting to price out fares for the Christmas season, the following was posted by Jetblue on Facebook earlier today:

Our schedule will be extended on Sunday, March 15th. The extension goes live at 12:00 PM EST Sunday, March 15th. It will include travel through January 4th, 2016.
Thanks. Made our reservations!
