Should I book now for March? Not sure why i'm hesitating on this.. If anyone can comment for reassurance or experience with their flights, that would great. Portland to Orlando flights on Jetblue, Point Orlando Resort and rent a car for 7 nights for $1925.76 tax included for a family of 3.

We have now booked flights three times with JetBlue (two return trips, and one one-way trip) and in all three cases, flight prices have only gone UP since booking, not down.

I would determine what you are comfortable paying, then lock in and purchase when you can get that price. If flight prices do drop, you can call JetBlue and get a credit for a future flight, which is good piece of mind.

The cost of your getaway sounds very reasonable to me. We are currently in the planning stages for a Christmas trip and prices are much higher than what you have quoted, for both flights and accomodations. So your package sounds like a deal :goodvibes .

One thing I will caution you on.......dont lock into a car deal right now. Prices for rentals typically drop dramatically about six weeks out from your travel date. Our New Years rental started at just over $300 and ended up at $68 taxes included (one week rental for a compact car which was upgraded for free to a midsize). Our August rental started at over $300 as well and we are now down to $115. You can book direct with the car rental agency, then cancel and rebook for free as prices decline.

I would book if it's the lower you can have. Keep an eye on those airfares and if they go down call them and they will issue a credit. ust yesterday my airfare for this month has gone down $60 for on of the legs of the trip and we now have $300 in credits waiting for us next year. I can't see the prices dropping too much tho for March break

I don't know if that's a good rate or not.....as I only fly from BUF. BUT, if you think it might be a good rate, book it. AND then watch each day for a change in the price. I booked flights back in April for September, and got an adjustment of $56 and then missed out on another drop of $40. Our flights for a while had dropped significantly BUT they have gone back up now. Keep an eye out....they do drop:yay::yay:

Thanks for your help! Will they still offer the credit on flights even though it's book as package? I will keep an eye however I'm very pleased with my booking price, I opted on a different hotel and my total package ended up being $300 cheaper.

We booked in June for our flight in Sept....we have gotten credit in the past, but have forgotten it, or never used it...so, we arent going to worry about it right now...

I stop looking once I have booked...

Interestingly my flight for August 23 dropped 30 dollars per person this morning:cool1:

So I got a credit. I just had to call and it was easy peasy. Now I have 150 in credit that can be used by me anytime in the next year. I would keep an eye out because it was a simple process and even if you never use the credit it's there if you need it.
