I am wondering, is it certain days of the week that prices change? Can they change in the middle of the day? Is the best time to check for pricing in the morning or at night?

Really no rhyme or reason but I have noticed that JB is good about putting an alert when there are a few tickets left in a particular fare bucket. You will see something like "4 tickets left at this price" when booking.

They change several times a day sometimes. Morning and afternoon change often.

I looked the other day at a flight and within a few hours, that flight went up 200 dollars.

No, there are not certain days of the week that prices change. Yes, they can change in the middle of the day. The best time to check for pricing is in the morning and then at night.

I have never personally, seen the prices go down. But I have seen them go up and like RysMomma, sometimes within a few hours.

It also pays to clear you cookies etc. on your computer if you have searched for airfare a number of times. I don't if JB does it, but it is said that some airlines use cookies to adjust prices just for you. So if they know you have looked at prices a few times they may raise them just for you to get you to buy. So say you find a flight for $150 and check it a few times before you purchase. Then the next time you go on the check the price is up to $165. But if I check at the same time you are I see the original price of $150. I have never seen JB do this but you never know.

I have read that if you use a web browser feature such as opening Chrome, clicking on FILE then clicking on NEW INCOGNITO WINDOW, companies can't do this.

Prices are adjusted on a continuous basis by airlines' ticketing software based on supply and demand.
