Hi,

We are bringing my in-laws down to our DVC resort in July and will be using ME does anyone think there is a major difference in flying Delta vs. JetBlue? Delta hub is about 20 minutes away and JetBlue is about 1.25 hours away but the ticket prices are the same.

Thoughts or recommendations?

We flew in Novemeber, Delta on the way down Jet Blue on the way back. Delta changed our seating 3 times before we left and again as we boarded the plane..not happy with that....Jet Blue was great, we got to board the plane first because we had children with us and it was very comfortable flying with them. I'm in CT and we flew out of Kennedy.

Either will get you there. If ticket prices are the same I would go with the 25-minute drive instead of the 1 hour+ drive.

I don't think you can go wrong with either of them. The TV's are nice on Jet Blue.

I fly both of them, but prefer JB. I used to love Delta Song, and when that went away, I moved over to JB. I prefer the televisions on JB..it tends to make the time go by faster. I like the personel on JB better also. Delta can be booked much further out, but they make many changes before departure day comes. You really have to stay on top of them and their myriad changes. JB doesn't book nearly as early as Delta, but they don't make many changes once they put their flights up. And, when they do make a change, I have always known about it well in advance of my flight. Delta waits until the very last minute to notify the passenger of any changes. Of course, that could be because they make so many changes..they would be sending me emails every month!!

Where to fly out of depends on how much you want to spend and how much your time is worth to you. We are pretty equidistant between Logan, Manchester NH, and TF Green. Logan is about 40 mins away, Green is almost exactly an hour, as is Manchester. If I fly SW, I head to Green. JB and Delta I fly out of Logan. It all depends on cost and time of day of flights.

I just booked Jet Blue yesterday out of White Plains.

That airport is about 1 1/2 hours or a bit less from my house & Bradley is about 45 minutes (35 if there are no cops & dh wore his leaded shoes).

Delta was $280 RT in August from Bradley where as Jet Blue was $190 ish RT from White Plains for the same time frame.

I chose Jet Blue because of a few reasons mainly because I am saving roughlyy $100 per ticket & multiply that by 5, I got an extra night at the Poly.

My parents fly Jet Blue alot out of JFK or LGA & they like it but my dh didn't want to fly out of there but he agreed to White Plains.

Technically my drive will only be around 30 minutes because we will stay at my parents house in Trumbull (I live just north of Old Saybrook) & my dad will take us (hopefully, since he doesn't quite know about it yet!) & pick us up so we won't have to pay for parking or worry about parking. We are flying mid-week too.

If the ticket prices are the same then I'd just fly Delta. For me, I changed my dates to the week prior in August & Jet Blues tickets went down about $16 one way. But even if they didn't, I still would of went JB because it was cheaper then Delta.
