JetBlue Opinions

We use JetBlue pretty much always from NYC area to MCO, usually flying out of EWR or HPN.

I've noticed that our later flights have had delays more often. As the hours go by in a day, more opportunity for back-ups accrue due to weather or technical issues.

Early flights seem to be have the best record for us. Even the one time our 8am flight was delayed by 30 minutes due to a door issue, our Australian JetBlue pilot was awesome. He told the cabin, "We're still going to get to Orlando on time! I'm gonna fly this plane like I stole it." He flew faster and we got in on time. I guess there are no speeding tickets in the sky.

Biggest contributor for delays, for any airline, is time of day. If the plane is at your gate first thing in the morning, then nothing's going to make you late but some weather. Once it's flown to multiple destinations, those are multiple opportunities to become late and, once that happens, it's really hard to make up the time. That's why I'm in the habit of checking where my plane is coming from since not all airlines are quick to announce their delays. I was at MCO looking at a board that said the flight was on time and due to be at the gate in 40 minutes and a quick Google showed it was just taking off from BWI, 2 hours away. People were literally starting to line up and I went and got a drink.

tldr; be careful about blaming a particular airline for delays when often it's the routes and time of day that are the biggest factors.
