JetBlue open til Apirl 30th?

I am really glad I booked early this am. I checked less than twelve hours later and the cost of our two return direct flight tickets from SYR to MCO has gone up by $80. And I had second thoughts because I thought the price was too high when the flights opened! :lmao:

Cheryl

Yeah, they are going fast.

I figure out it was the Saturday flight that was killing me, so I called Disney, flipped our split-stay weekend at CBR to the opposite weekend (had to change to POR though), and got a lot better price. But even then it went up $30 while I was getting it straightened out. They are also connecting flights, which I haven't had to do before. It appears even JetBlue has cut down on direct flights BOS/MCO and made them more expensive ($344 one-way, from $99-$139 previously).

Any chance you could be a little flexible with your dates? Since the actual dates of April vacation are way too expensive, we're leaving BOS on Tues, Apr 21 and coming home on Wed, Apr 29. The kids will miss three days of school, but it will be worth it. We got $154 pp going down and $139 pp coming back, which makes a total of $314 pp. For school vacation week, that's not too bad.

I got up at 1:00 AM to book our flights. I checked the flights again at 8:00 AM and the flight down was already up $30 pp. We're a family of 5, so that would have been $150 more! I'm glad I set the alarm for 1:00 this morning. Now I need a nap...

Julie, I ended up pulling an all nighter for this one! Seriously, didn't go to bed till 6 this am. I don't think I've done that since my college days. The JB fares finally came online about 1:45 am, I sat there like a zombie staring at them, and had to say outloud, "think":rotfl: . I knew the low fares were going to disappear before my eyes if I didn't act right then and there. I kind of scared myself! I ended up doing the opposite of you, and am starting at 2 days before school vacation starts and pulling my DS17 out early. My other DS16 will be home with my DH, he says he doesn't mind, they'll do some special things together. We just did a huge trip this past April, so this one has to be cheaper. We're actually going to be meeting up with our oldest who is most likely going to be working the college program there, so it'll be lots of fun. Anyway, after booking the flights, do ya think I could get some sleep?? Nope. Then I had to pour over the points. Went out the living room and decided on our favorite, BCV's. Where will you be staying and have you booked it yet? What a night!:)

I am psyched! I got my tickets for April 13-April 19 for $104 going down, $139 coming back. We initially planned to fly out of White Plains, NY, but for what we paid for three tickets out of Boston, we would have paid for ONE ticket out of White Plains! :cool1: This is our first time buying a ticket for our son, so I can see how the airfare can add up pretty quickly! Now I just have to change my ressies at SSR for our new arrival and departure dates. I just want to say that I really LOVE JetBlue and I look forward to flying with them in April! :thumbsup2

Jill, although I didn't pull a true all-nighter like you did, I might as well have. I went to bed at 11:00, but really couldn't sleep and kept getting up to check the computer. At 1:00, the fares were up and I made DH get up to help me decide on the dates. I was so excited, yet stressed to move quickly, so I had issues with thinking as well. :scared: By the time I printed out the confirmation, it was 1:30. Part of me wanted to start looking at the points charts, but the other part of me knew that my brain was in no shape for that. So I went to bed. I think it took me about an hour to get to sleep though.

A while back, I guessed at our dates and booked at OKW (I was off by a day but was able to modify the reservation yesterday). We're planning to try to switch to another resort at the 7 month window, so I'm glad I know what my dates are. I was really afraid the 7 month window was going to arrive and I still wouldn't have my flights. What a relief! I'm happy to hear that BCV is your favorite, because that is where we're hoping to stay this time. My kids are dying to try SAB and I love the location of BCV.

How exciting that your DS might be working the college program! I hope you all have a great trip! :goodvibes I also hope that you were able to take a nap yesterday or go to bed early last night. I never got around to taking a nap yesterday and I'm already exhausted today.

Sounds like your planning really paid off! We're travelling down on the 22nd (8pm) and back on the 29th (8pm). I'm glad I booked when I did, too!

Maybe we'll see you there! I just saw your other post on this thread - you got a great price! Way to go! :cool1:

Oh, good luck at your 7 month window! I was so happy I got into the BCV's before my 7 month came, I only had 10 days left. whew. I'm anxious to see if they'll be any left in about 2 weeks. Have you ever stayed there? You'll love it if you can, its just so beautiful. I did get some extra sleep in in the morning yesterday. I went to bed fairly early last night too to catch up. Now I get to plan our ADR's. That 180 window opens up Oct. 18th I think. My son doesn't know this, but I plan on getting tickets to Cirque de Soleil, something he's wanted to do forever.:)

We've never stayed at BCV and have always wanted to, so we're really hoping that something's available when the 7 month window opens. If not, we'll try another resort, go on the waitlist, or just stay at OKW. We have a big group, 4 adults, 2 kids, and a baby, so the space of OKW will be appreciated if we end up staying there.

Have a wonderful time at Cirque. What a great surprise for your son! I'd love to do that some day, but we'll have to wait a while since our youngest isn't even 2 yrs old yet.

I've been thinking about planning ADR's too. I'm hoping to have some time this week while the older kids are in school to do some planning. Nobody can accuse me of waiting until the last minute! :rotfl: My family thinks I'm crazy, but they're always thankful when we get there and have all our meals booked.

...another Jill just piping in to say that we saw Cirque last month for the first time and it was INCREDIBLE!! We liked it so much that when I got an e-mail saying they were adding shows for the Cirque coming to Boston I ordered them! (10/12)

And just saying that we stayed at VWL & SSR thos year and liked them both.

Jill
