the CEO was just on the today show and thought alot of what he said was great
they also showed a new passenger bill of rights and said that it was going into effective asap and would be retro to the storm
it will cost the company more than 20 million
its not up on their website yet but looked good a
sliding fee schedule based on how long you wait you earn $$ back in the form of vouchers i think it said
their website will have it up this afternoon

The big question... is it retroactive? So are then compensating those they already messed up?

He said it WOULD be retroactive!

Anywhere from $25 cash up to RT tix

Matt Lauer pressed him & he admitted it would cost the airline in the area of $20 M:eek: .

Nice good-faith effort IMO; but the cynic in me sez it's being doing to avoid congress stepping in w/restrictions, etc.

I was watching MSN or CNN and they mentioned the same thing, but the problem they said is since JB is making the policy, they are free to pull or cut back on it at any time. It would be nice to see some regulations in place that airlines can wiggle out of.

NO!

:rotfl2:

I think this and some other high profile "screwups" have created a desire on Capital Hill to be seen as "doing something"

It's irrelevant... what they promised this morning is exactly what they offered us last week. We already were given a free round-trip. The promise made today does nothing more than codify what they have already been doing.

Note, also, that the promise doesn't include any compensation for extra overnight hotel charges, nor for extended stays on-board an aircraft on the ground.
