I know some of you like Jet blue so maybe this was a one time incident, I usually fly to DL on Southwest or Alaska Airlines.
This trip we flew Jetblue since the fares were so low and a few friends said they have had good experiences with jetblue.

Our flight was scheduled to leave at 6:35 am and land at LGB at 7:59am.
We hired a limo to meet us at LGB at 8:15am.

This trip was with my two friends and their kids (4,6,7,9) and my two kids(4,6).

We boarded the plane at 6:05am, the kids thought the tv screens were great, but by 7am the novelty was wearing off when the First Captain announced that the Captain was stuck in traffic.
Are you kidding me?? Why wasn't his butt at the airport 90 minutes before the flight like the rest of us at 5am??
He surely would have avoided the traffic had he been there early. I sure didn't experience ANY traffic on the way to the airport.
The flight attendants and First Captain didn't seem to have a problem getting there on time.
I tried to call the Limo company to tell them we'd be late but my phone and my friends' phones had "no service" in that location of the airport.

My friend's 4 yr old was getting restless and agitated and wanted to sit with his Aunt so he switched seats with his cousin until take-off. When my friend tried to explain to the flight attendant she snapped at her stating with an attitude and some ghetto neck action,"Yeah well, I have kids too!"
Nice.....

Clearly the pilot had everyone a little annoyed.

So today I called Jetblue to complain and ask for a partial credit/refund since I had to tip the limo driver extra for his inconvenience and they totally screwed up our Ridemax plan. The whole reason we booked a 6:35 am flight.
I know you Diser's understand that.

I got attitude from Nicky the Jetblue customer service supervisor.
I was nice about it, but I just feel like Jetblue does not care about customer service. She told me not to "waste my time or her time" as there was "nothing she could do for me". Couldn't believe it!
I bet they compare stories in the break room about the sassy things they say to customers. Nicky said the flight was only delayed 35 minutes cuz the pilot logged the take-off time as 7:15am...yeah right dude..more like 7:55am.

On the flight home we lined up a little early since we had 6 little ones and they board kids first. It was chaos as everyone hoarded the door to board.
My 4 yr old took off thru the door since he thought we were first in line, which we were. I tried to get thru the mob to grab him but nobody would let me thru...nice.....
The Jetblue boarding gate person snapped at me to get him, which I of course was trying to. I told her if she could board people in a more orderly manner it wouldn't have even been as issue.
Unbelievable.
This flight was only 20 minutes late with take off and was the scariest take-off of my life. I understand there is always turbulence but side to side wobbly up and down was terrifying. It felt as if his steering wheel was loose.
I wonder if all their pilots are fresh out of flight school? The woman on the other side of the aisle was praying...scary!

I will definitely stick with Southwest next time. I'd rather pay an extra $20 per flight not to have the extra aggravation.

I'm a pretty patient and easy to please person so it takes a lot to make me mad.

wow that sucks what a B that lady sounds like.
im so sorry they screwed you up so much i would call back and demand to speak to a manger not that lady eathier and complain about her additued too
horibuel horibule jet blue ive looked at before but never can see a reason to take a plane ill stick with bus it wasnt bad at all last time praying it wont be this time.
It was crouded last time becosue was right after thanksgiving so maybe this time will be less crouded.

Agent at the front counter area for JB in San Diego seemed to have had her ears removed, as she was looking at me while I was saying "oh thank you so much for doing the gate check thing here, on our way out we had to do it at the gate, that is so sweet thank you", and she was talking and getting ANGRY with me for some reason. I was done thanking her and was trying to listen to her, and it seems (my husband told me later...I did NOT understand her) she was saying that she needed me to put the tag on the stroller right there in front of her (why she couldn't have told my husband, handed the tag to my husband, I don't know, he was standing right next to me), and as I was telling her that I did not understand what she was saying she practically leapt out from behind her area to angrily put it on the stroller herself. Totally uncalled for, and there was NO ONE behind us, there was no need to hurry or be anxious on her part. After she did that, I told her that I had been telling her I didn't understand, and I had been thanking her, and she just needed to repeat herself, that she didn't need to come out, I wasn't refusing to do anything, I was just not understanding her. She ended up *sort of* saying sorry, but not really.

On the flight out of San Diego, hubby had his seat back a little bit during the flight. When they announced that seat backs should be up, hubby was talking or something and didn't hear it. I told him shortly after they said it that he needed to put his seat up. He was actively putting his hand down to the armrest to press the button when the FA came by. FA had to have moved hubby's hand out of the way, pushed the button and SHOVED the seat back up. Did not say a word while doing that. It was insane.

We had already, after the checking in weirdness, said that we missed SW, but after that hubby stated clearly (and loudly) that he was never flying JB again.

Neither of those incidents were horrifying, but they are things that have never happened to us before, and although we haven't flown a ton recently, in our 20s he and I (separately) were flying all over, internationally and nationally, and those things have never happened before.

Now I know I'm glad I didn't complain, if the people taking complaints are allowed to be sassy-pants as well!

Wow! I've only heard good things about JetBlue before reading this thread. We were thinking of using them to fly to Orlando next spring (I HATE United!). Now you have me re-thinking that decision. Thanks for posting your review. If we do fly with them, I guess I shouldn't expect much!:)

What, exactly, is "ghetto neck action," pray tell?

I am sorry you have a bad experience with them. I would have asked to speak to the supervisor and have taken it up the chain.

Couldn't hurt to follow up with a written letter?

I have flown Jet Blue many many times and have never ever had a problem with them. They are one of my fave airlines.

I'm so sorry you had such a horrible experience with JB. I've flown JB to DLR several times and have never had a problem either. In fact, one time when we flew into Long Beach there was a security delay and we had to sit on the runway for about 1/2 an hour before unboarding. When we returned home, JB had emailed my husband and I each a $25.00 credit for our next flight. I totally didn't expect that! It was a nice surprise.

Wow that really is bad! I only flew them once and really enjoyed my flight and the crew. Maybe I was lucky. I flew from SD to NYC and ended up talking to the first officer after the flight. Nice guy too!!! After reading all different posts about JB, I think it really is a hit or miss with them.

We call it fanning the flames around here. :rotfl2: You know... waving your head around all sassy..

I think I understand the neck action part. It's the ghetto reference that I found grossly offensive.

Just thought i let you know since im an airplane geek, most of the time, the plane are on autopilot throughout the flight. Turbulence is based off of wind speeds that vary considered that if you go against wind, you tend to hit more violent turbulance. The pilot just simply oversees the computer's action and the co pilot usually does the takoff/landing part of the flight.

What the heck is ghetto neck action??? Rude is rude, why is a ghetto description needed?

I haven’t used Jetblue yet. However, my son’s flies with them often. I’ve had to speak with customer service a few times and they’ve been nothing but pleasant and helpful.

I am so sorry that you have had such problems with JetBlue. I haven't flown them before, but had heard only good things in the past. I will have my radar up a bit more if I do give them a try.

I also HATE united and have had bad experiences every time I have flown them. I usually stick with Delta or Continental.

I think we are all going to see a drastic decline in the quality of customer service from all airlines as they try to stay afloat (that and a BIG increase in prices :( ).

Michele

I'm sorry you had a bad experience, but truthfully it could have happened on any airline (even American or Southwest)

I've flown jet blue several times. planes are clean ( you don't have to worry about them pulling planes out of service like southwest)

they purchase new planes often.
they fly direct in most cases. unlike southwest. you get an assigned seat. so there's no race to get to the airport so you don't need to get into the right boarding group.

but yes I do agree they should put their supervisors under the same microscope that they do the low people on the totem pole.

I"d Fly jet blue until i'm blue in the face :)
Right now all the airlines are crap. but atleast Jet blue hasn't nickel'ed and dime'ed you to death like alot of the other airlines; Charging for checked luggage? what the......

Gonna see? That ship has long since sailed!

So sorry to hear about your experience. I flew JetBlue to Long Beach from Oakland in April and had a great flight. Right now they are still one of my top picks for airlines, but unfortunately, I think service on all airlines is just going down down down lately.

I was hoping for a good experience, I really wanted a new alternative to Southwest, since JB's prices are much cheaper than SW, now I know why.

No offense meant on the "ghetto neck action" comment. I'm known to get a little ghetto myself when I get worked up and angry.
The flight attendant was not African American, so sorry if I offended anyone with that comment.

I'm not sure if I'll write a letter to Jetblue, as the the sassy manager said, "don't waste your time."

Looks like I'll be flying Southwest in September.
