Just wanted to post my experience changing my flight to a cheaper fare with JetBlue. I saw this am that my flights dropped to $103 each way Boston to Orlando nonstop. I went online to get the phone number to change my flights and found information on JetBlue's site about changing flights. So I decided to wing it and try to change them online and see what happens as I've read that it can't be done (although it was a while ago I read this). I brought up my itinerary clicked in the first flight to change it and it wouldn't let me (I did this a few times). I then clicked on the change entire itinerary button at the top and was able to change my flights and we each got a $34 credit which was deposited into my JetBlue bank to be used on flights in the next year. I chose the exact same flights I was originally booked on and got the cheaper fare. When it came to selecting seats, the seats we were originally booked on were not yet released. I booked the flights without selecting seats, got my credit, $136 total), and then went back into my itinerary and clicked on select seats and was able to now select the same seats we had originally been booked on. It was easy and quick. The whole time I did this I was on hold with JetBlue, waiting for a rep to help me in case it didn't work, but it worked and I hung up before anyone answered, I think my wait time was still 3 mins at that point. When I first called when I started this, it was a 9 min wait.

I apologize if this is old news but i couldn't find anything recent on it.

I hope this helps someone out with changing flights!

That's great information! I don't think it's old news.

Couple of FYIs. You do run the very minimal risk of losing your seat assignment; and for any seven or eight letter major company that's been around any length of time, the company name is a good place to start for the phone number :). It's 1-800-538-2583 (1-800-jetBlue).

I booked my flight this morning and was told by Jetblue that they would credit the difference if it goes lower. Thanks for letting me know that it actually worked! I will be keeping an eye on the prices! :dance3:

Oh, jetBlue will credit your True Blue account if the fare for your exact flight drops and you call and request the credit, lizzytizzy. They're great about that. But this is the first experience anybody's reported of being able to process the change themselves, online, without involving a jetBlue representative!

So after reading this, my flight as stayed the same at $131.00 but the flight the day before is down to $115 same time, just a day earlier, and $16 cheaper, are you saying I can go in and change the flight to a day before and will get the credit, plus be able to change to a different flight without having to pay a change fee? It doesn't matter eithier way, just if it is doable, I may jump on going on the Sunday over going the Monday right now! Thanks

Did you give it a try? Let us know if you were as successful as I was. I had no problem with the change and was not charged a fee. This makes things so much easier.

I believe the credit will only be issued if the price drops for the exact same flight you currently have booked.
If you change to a different flight or same flight on a different day you will be charged a change fee, you'll have to do the math to see if it's still worth while to do.

NO I didn't try it, because if it was a different day and that was allowed, I didn't want to pay a change fee per person, I just wondered if you could do it like on Southwest. I hadn't heard any responses so left it.
