I am thinking of getting the JetBlue credit card that you get 40K bonus points and it cost $99/year. It says you get a first free bag. If I sign up for the card and get my family of 5 tickets that are paid with with the card, do they ALL get a free checked bag? Not sure if it's only the cardholder that gets a free bag? Anyone have any pluses/minuses opinions about the card?

Cardholder plus 3 companions get a free bag. But don't forget, they still allow a carry-on free of charge plus a personal item. Everyone may not need a bag checked. I couldn't imagine hauling around 10 bags for my family of 5 :scared:

Have you already priced out in points what it will cost for your family to fly? That will help determine if the card is worth it for you. 40,000 points gets me just 2 round trip tickets from my airport to MCO so not really worth it for my family as we don't usually check bags when/if we fly JetBlue.

If we had more destinations or local airports that JetBlue flew into/out of, it may be worth it. Each individual situation will vary so it's important you take your own situation into account.

Love this card. Free bags - 10% points back on redemptions - anniversary bonus points which goes someway to covering the annual fee - 2X points on restaurants and groceries. (plus, not guaranteed, but occasional offers for bonus points based on spend or other categories)

I live in the North-East so JetBlue has lots of options - and I find them one of the better airlines to fly with.

I applied for JetBlue Plus credit card today and didn't get approved automatically. I am so surprised, I have a 830 excellent credit rating and get approved for anything I have ever applied for. It said "further review is needed".

This happened to my DH. He also has a score in the 800’s. He received an email a couple days later and was approved for this card.

That happened to me too and my FICO is at the top. Can't remember how long it took but got it approval pretty quickly, maybe a day or two.

That is a good sign-up bonus. We only got 30,000 last year.
We keep an eye on flights and have gotten some good deals with points from BOS to MCO.

They offered 60,000 bonus this past November, sorry I missed it. Now it's only 40K

OP here. I applied online last night and got an email this morning that said I was approved. I was surprised I wasn't approved automatically but who knows, there is so much fraud these days.

I love this card! We haven't paid for a flight OOP since I got it except for upgrades from coach to extra legroom seats. The three airports I fly out of—Providence, Boston and Hartford—all have great routes for JetBlue.

Probably my favorite perk is the half priced adult beverages on flights :)
