Anyone see over on FlyerTalk that JetBlue is coming to PVD??!! The announcement is supposed to come on Wed. Maybe this is a hint that the next round of fares will be released soon and giving us here in the CapeCod and SE Mass area another option. Hopefully there will be a couple of nonstop flights!!! Also for anyone waiting for the next round of fares.....last year JB released to April 30, 2012 on July 17th....so should be coming soon!!

Oh dear God...how wonderful would that be??? I hate paying the parking fees at Logan..much prefer flying out of TF Green.

Me too! :flower2:

What's the chance they will be opening up airfare for April in Providence? It would provide Southwest with some competition.

I guess we'll find out Wednesday. :rolleyes1

I've been checking my emails every day for a JB schedule extension announcement. I guess it's gonna be later this year than last.

Can you post a link to the announcement on Wednesday? I'm afraid of missing it.

If you go to jetBlue's site today and click on "FROM" for flights PVD is now listed even though you can't book it yet. It shows 6 destinations 3 in Puerto Rico, Ft. Lauderdale, Orlando and I believe Austin, TX.:thumbsup2

Ok editing here to say: What's up with Puerto Rico??? 3 flights???? Really?

Some of the fares are now loaded in.....not sure if you can book them yet!!!!

Just played around on JetBlue's website. Wasn't able to bring up flights until I got to the month of December. Prices I saw (in early December) were $75.00 each way PVD to MCO. I would take that!!! Oh how I wish we could afford a December trip!!!!

Anyway.... I am thrilled that they finally made it into Providence!!!

I was just on JetBlue's website. The calendar shows dates through June but I was not able to book them. Does this mean they will be available later today?

The dates are only open until Feb 13, 2013 (at least that's what it says when I go on the website). Also, I wasn't able to get any flights to come up for anything earlier than this December.

Not sure when they will extend their dates....hopefully soon tho!:)

Just saw this on Boston.com:

Jet Blue to begin flights to RI in November

July 18, 2012

PROVIDENCE, R.I.—JetBlue Airways is coming to Rhode Island.

The airline said on Wednesday that it would start flying nonstop to T.F. Green Airport from Orlando and Fort Lauderdale, Fla., starting Nov. 29. Providence becomes the 75th destination for the airline.

Gov. Lincoln Chafee had lobbied the airline hard to begin service to T.F. Green in Warwick, Chafee's hometown. Chafee has pushed for greater development of the airport as a southern New England transportation hub. He went so far as to visit JetBlue CEO Dave Barger at his office in New York in August to make a pitch to bring the airline to Rhode Island.

Chafee said JetBlue's move will give travelers out of T.F. Green more flight options, add jobs at the airport and improve the state's business reputation.

"JetBlue service makes T.F. Green Airport, in the heart of Warwick's growing transportation hub and regional connectivity, an even more appealing option for the traveling public," he said.

Barger told WPRO-AM that dozens of other cities are trying to get JetBlue to provide service there, and called Wednesday's announcement of Providence as a stop "very significant for our company."

JetBlue will initially offer two flights a day to Orlando and one to Fort Lauderdale, although Barger said the company tends to go into a city with the intention to grow.

Warwick Mayor Scott Avedisian said JetBlue's addition will increase the affordable options for travelers in the area.

In New England, JetBlue also flies out of Boston; Hartford, Conn.; Portland, Maine; Burlington, Vt., and Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket, Mass.

Southwest is the dominant airline at T.F. Green, with around two dozen flights per day. That represents about 50 percent of the market share for the airport, said Rebecca Pazienza Bromberg, an airport spokeswoman. On Monday, Southwest announced will add seasonal non-stop flights to West Palm Beach, Fla., and Fort Myers, Fla., both to begin Feb. 17.

Does that mean the flights won't be available to book until November 29 or that soon they will open booking for PVD and November 29 is the first open date to book?:confused3

Gosh I hope its the latter! :flower:
