Anyone know anything about the proposed cancellation of flights out of Stewart Airport in Newburgh NY? There are two flights currently & they supposedly announced that they are cancelling one of the flights but they don't tell which one. I have a friend who has tickets & she is freaking because she is not sure if her flight is the one they are cancelling or not. She just booked this flight - she HAD tickets on AirTran & then they pulled out two weeks ago & she lost that arrangement. She is so upset that it is going to happen again.

Thanks for any info!

JetBlue is going from 2 flights (SWF to MCO) per day to 1 starting Sept. 3rd. The new flight will depart at 9 AM. If you have a ressie for after that date you should reconfirm with jetBlue. They are changing from the 2 Embraers to 1 Airbus so really reducing capacity from about 200/day to 140/day. If you are flying before labor day, nothing has changed.

thank you - I know this information already- We are trying to figure out which flight is being cancelled. She is leaving in December. She cannot book anything else since neither flight is officially cancelled yet so she is in limbo - knows one flight will be cancelled - maybe hers, may not be hers. And the flight times have changed - leaving at 9am from Newburgh to Orlando - coming back leaves at 12:35 leaving Orlando which is not good for her since they have things booked that day- originally they were coming back late at night.
sigh- it is just frustrating. You plan a vacation & book things only to have the airline pull the rug. She had evertyhing booked through AirTran only to have them pull out & each time she re-books, the prices are going up. Once the new flight info is announced, it is going to be a race to get different flights- really seems unfair - the flights on the day she is leaving only have 4 seats left on each one so basically 1 flight is being totally dumped & being told to go somewhere else.

We are in the same boat - flying Stewart/Newburgh to Orlando on JetBlue November 12 - November 27th.

We are on Flight 575 going down and Flight 578 coming home. JetBlue's website for November STILL shows 2 flights down and 2 flights back.
BUT if you check September and October only 1 shows each way - Flight 575 down and Flight 576 back. Seeing this I panicked and assumed Flight 578 from MCO-SWF was the one that was eliminated.

Just got off the phone with JetBlue - customer service checked "everywhere" - computer, website, emails - and she couldn't find anything saying there weren't two flights each way each day! I told her to check Sept & Oct - she agreed there was only 1 flight but insisted that November still showed 2 each way. I asked if it was possible they just hadn't updated everything yet. She insisted that the flights disappearing in Sept & Oct "might just be a seasonal thing because there would be a note or something on your reservation if your flights were affected" ARRRRR!

I just know that it's only a matter of time before this flight disappears!

Forgot to mention that she also said that if the flight did get cancelled, JetBlue would put us on the next available flight with no price change. The only problem is that would be at least the next day!

I emailed them with these questions and here is their response:

Thank you for contacting JetBlue Airways regarding our service from Stewart International Airport
(SWF). We appreciate the opportunity to provide you with information.

The only formal announcement that has been made so far is the discontinuation of our route to Palm
Beach International Airport (PBI). If you book your travel for November and anything changes we will
notify you as soon as possible. We have a team of crewmembers that reaches our to our customers
anytime there are schedule changes and we will work to accommodate you on another flight from SWF if
the change does not work for your schedule.

We hope you will choose JetBlue and look forward to jetting with you.

The announcement about cancelling flights was made last Tuesday or Wednesday, by today they should have more information for us than this. This is the second time I booked Jet Blue and the first time that I am leaving from Stewart. I am very dissappointed in their customer service and lack of respect for their NY market. If you plan to announce cancellations than you better be prepared to have answers when people call:sad2: . I have come to the conclusion that this is a very poorly managed company based on this and past tarmack events and that they are procrastinating the answer while they determine which flight is more profitable for them. The longer it takes for them to figure it out the more difficult it will be for those of us scheduled on these flights to make other arrangements. I currently have dinner ressies for 5:30 on my flight out day and so I booked an 8:30 AM flight. When I spoke to customer service she did explain that if my flight was the cancelled one, they would book me on another flight out of EWR, JFK, or LGA if those times were better for me but the longer they wait, the more those will fill leaving us with fewer options. I think this is my second and last Jet Blue flight and the last time I book out of Stewart as I could have booked out of EWR :headache: for the same times and price. Good Luck everyone and please let us know if you all find out more details.
