Jet.com -- any experiences -- a shopping site going against Amazon?

I have read good and bad on the web. Saw a promo for it during college football games yesterday and just remembered today.

I "now have a free" six-month trial membership, but not sure I want to do anything else with it....

The one saving grace was that I did not have to provide a credit card number for my free trial as so many other sites require....but did...of course have to give e-mail and ??? ZIP CODE ???

I've been shopping on Jet.com since the day it launched - Slickdeals had a code for a free one year membership. I've placed several large orders because savings increases the more you have in your cart (I did discover they won't let you put more than 35 items I think it was in your cart though LOL). I've found plenty of good deals, better than Amazon, and they don't charge sales tax so the savings is even more. Things come and go stock-wise though, so if you see a good deal, move on it. I've bought everything from Lay's Potato Chips to a Curling Iron to a Drawing pad for DD to Flonase. Everything has been delivered no problem, although some things come faster than others. The things shipped by Jet directly seem to get here faster, it's other sellers that can be a bit slower. I haven't had to return anything yet, so I don't how easy or hard that process is. And I haven't had to contact customer support so I don't know how good they are.

Just as always, know your prices. Some things are good prices, some things aren't.

Thanks for the information.

I really don't "need anything" at the moment, except dear wife says her bottle of Centrum vitamins is nearly out. Now, Centrum is $$$ and there are other options, but some of you know about telling wives what they need and don't need ...

Anyway, Jet was actually about a buck cheaper for Centrum than I can get it locally, but there is the shipping -- and being in Oregon, I don't worry about sales tax.

So, if it is legit, and from what you say, it seems to be so, it is a site I can at least refer to when I am thinking about an online purchase. As for long term, there is no way I can see myself paying $50 per year for the rights to shop at jet as the prices seem low, but not THAT low.

I had $10 off my order, so gave them a try and ordered a video game, which they drop shipped from Toys R Us. I was not impressed; could have gotten it faster and for the same price from Amazon. I probably won't use them again.

I just placed an order since it was $10 off your first order, free shipping, and no tax. I got a really good deal on some dog treats and cat treats that I buy all the time, so really stocked up on those. Some things were cheaper on their site, some things were not. Everything I ordered says estimated 1-2 business days for the shipping, so we will see how that goes. Also got a free 6 month membership.

I ordered some cat treats and stocked up on Pringles this morning. Between the coupon and the discount for ordering multiple items, it was a really great deal. We'll see how it goes.
