Hello to everyone and thank you for all of the great information posted on these boards! Looking forward to my very first trip to Disney this month and reading these boards has kept the excitement brewing!

I have a question about Jet Boat rental, I have seen it on a travel channel show but cannot find much more information about them. They are like 1 or 2 person speed boats that you can race around the lakes. Has anyone ever rented these? Is one location better than another? What would be the easiest/best location to rent from at either MK or Downtown Disney? What hours do they run? Thanks for any information you might have!! My DH is really looking forward to these if we can find out where they run them. :fish:

We rented these this past Feb. when we were there from the marina at our resort....CT (Contemporary). They are available at most (if not all) the deluxe resorts on the lake. What fun! The cost is minimal compared to the experience. If you do a search on the boards for "water mice" you will find some more info.

Here is a link to start you off:

You will also find a very basic page of where they are available on Disney's site, somewhere under Other Recreation. I will try to find it and post it. Here we go:

Have fun!

Janis, Thanks so much for the info and the links! I am going to call the CT tomorrow and see if I need a reservation... My DH will love this, he remembered riding them when he went with his folks many years ago (this will be his second trip and my first). It'll be a great surprise for him! Thanks again!

You are welcome. If you are going this month, I highly doubt you will need a ressie, but it doesn't hurt to call. When we went in Feb., there were a ton of them at the marina at CT. We rented 2, one for me and one for DH (our DD4 started off with me but then switched to Daddy's boat because "he drives faster"). My family boats, so I was not worried about the water, but boy it was a little daunting at first being passed by the big Disney passenger boats! I think we paid around $45 for both boats. I don't remember the time we were out but I know it was less than an hour - it seemed about perfect anyway. I took a ton of photos from the lake..........a whole new view of things.

Have fun!

they are fun. My son and I did them last week while wife and baby were resting. They don't go very fast, but like said above the cost is nothing. I want to say it is $15.00 per 15 minutes, and cheaper the more time you buy.

Thanks for the link to this thread! That does have some great info... I didn't realize that some locations allowed faster boats than others. I will keep this in mind b/c I know my DH have more fun on the faster ones! :jumping3:

I know you went to the links, but I would certaionly suggest the Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon retnal locations over Downtown Disney, so much more exciting, and more space to cruise around!
