Hi,
I just found out that Jetblue flys from Sacramento to Long Beach. Anyone ever used Jet Blue? Its cheaper than southwest. Only 54.00 each way. Is that good. We have never flown before.

Thanks!

We love Jet Blue and now that they have Company Blue I even fly them for business whenever I can. I am actually flying into LGB this comning Saturday from BOS for a conference but I will be able to spend Sunday the 19th at DL so I am very excited about that. Jet Blue is great bring your headphones and enjoy the Direct TV and radio

Do they let you have assigned seats? I dont want my kids without an adult and im not sure how this works.

oh ya. in fact if you do it online you can see where other people are seated and pick where you sit :)

I've been checking in on our flight a LOT. Changed our seats a couple times too. Way easy.

Hmm Doesn't entirely matter. Depends on you guys. Like, some people prefer to sit at the front so they're first off. Some people prefer the back cuz it's close to the potty.

On jetblue you can pay a little extra and get seats with more leg room. I believe those are at the front, so you'd probably have to sit in the middle to back.

Absolutely LOVE JetBlue! My DH hates to fly. When flying from Burbank to Orlando a couple of years ago, My DH said, "I would fly JetBlue again!" This is a man who is a white knuckle flyer and when I glanced at him during that flight, he looked so calm. Plenty of leg room and the seats are very comfortable. I also liked arranging our seats on line as well. Too bad they don't fly that route anymore. We would go to WDW more often!

sure that would be great! It must be an option after you purchase the tickets. I havennt gotten that far yet. I have to see if I can get the days off work. Im sure it will be fine.

Oh, wow! Thanks so much for this information! I never realized we could fly Jet Blue from Sacramento to LGB. We'll probably go this route next time!

Soooo Cool
Thanks for doing that. Gives me a prespective on it. Looks like spliting up and getting window seats for the kids is good =)

Yeah we had to do it because we're taking carseats. To have a carseat it needs to be by a window. It can be in the middle only if no one is sitting by a window and it can't be in an aisle. So yeah we split up and can still pass stuff back and forth

Shout out to all you Nor Cal'ers! And a special Chico greeting to DizMe (hope you survived the 5th & Ivy riots this weekend!)

I just ran our January dates through Jet Blue and Southwest. We've used Southwest several times in the past (Sac to SNA) but Jet Blue to Long Beach is much cheaper. Over a $100 less. Southwest did have more flight times to choose from though. All the same, I think we'll still drive this January. With a Honda Civic hybrid and plenty of family to visit along the way (for a free night's rest), we'll still save $$ by driving.

Still, glad to have the info - I'd never considered Jet Blue before but certainly will the next time we decide to fly.

FWIW, we had two separate incidents of extreme (in our opinion) rudeness by JB employees when we used them.

And my TV screen kept stopping as though it were on a DVR and I was pressing pause.

And since I was in the middle, I might as well have just watched whatever I thought was OK for DS to watch, b/c he could see my screen clear as day. Forget watching something interesting to me! And hubby was watching something incredibly boring so I couldn't even sneak a peek at his screen (DS couldn't see his screen).

Very frustrating. I have never had even possible rudeness by a SW agents or flight attendants, and hubby and I are seasoned flyers who are very polite and down-to-business when flying, so having two people on completely different days be obnoxious was shocking!

But if they are the best choice, then they are the best choice. I just won't expect Southwest-style treatment from them.

(oh and if you forget your own headphones, you can buy headphones from them. $1, and they are a few steps up from the free headphones they used to give out...we flew out while they still gave out headphones and flew back after that was stopped, so we experienced both headphones!)

Aw crud, there goes my morning porn :rotfl:

That bites tho. I hope they're in better moods when we go (altho um..morning. Hmmmm)

I've flown Jet Blue from Sacramento to Long Beach several time and I love it! You get our choice of snacks AND a full can of soda, not a little plastic cup filled with ice and a couple of sips of the generic stuff! And the TV is a big plus too. The only draw back is when I fly alone the transportation to the hotel from LB is about $40.00 and another $55 back to the airport. When I fly SW to Orange Co., the transportation is only $10 to and from the airport. So the tickets have to be A LOT cheaper with Jet Blue or the ground transportation eats up my savings!

We had a fabulous experience on JB. Better than any other airline then we've flown recently. Everyone was really nice, free snacks (as many as you want) and tv. It was fabulous! I pricelined a van for us for ground transportation.
