Does anyone have experience with Jet Blue same day change? DH and I want to get to Orlando earlier. Right now our flight is scheduled to arrive at 7:30pm on Saturday and we are hoping to change it to a morning flight. We called Jetblue and they told us that we could call the same day starting at midnight and change our flight to an earlier time for $40/person. (We have a $78 credit so that would almost completely cover it) Has anyone ever done this? How easy is it to get a different flight? TIA

It is very easy.
If the seats are available on the morning flight (when you call) you will be booked and ready to go.
Don't have any info on using the credit, but don't see why not. I will give JB a call and ask.
Just wanted to add, unless things have changed, you will have to pay extra if the morning flight is higher then what you paid for the 7:30pm flight.

We did this for our return flight in March this year. I called in at about midnight on the day of our flight and was on hold for about a half hour before I got to speak with someone but then the transaction went pretty quickly.

I'd suggest that you check the JetBlue reservation system online before you call to check on availability of flights/seats. That way if you have specific flights that you want, or even seats on a flight, you'll be prepared with that information when you talk with the JetBlue reservation staff.

As you noted, the only cost for same-day changes is the $40 fee for each seat.

You could look at jetblue.com, put in the flights you are "hoping" to take and put in 1 passenger. Once you get through the screen where you put your infomation in (name, etc) you can view available seats on the plane for that flight. If it looks like there are only a handful of seats available then it might be tough, but if looks like there are ALOT of seats then it shouldn't be a problem.

I see that you are looking at doing confirmed standby for $40 per person. Are they still offering regular standby for free? I've done that before. I've looked at the seating charts and if there are quite a bit of seats then I'll do the regular standby.

Thank you all for the replies. I just called Jetblue and they informed me that I can not use our credit towards a same day change, so DH and have decided to try to fly standby tomorrow morning. As of right now it looks like theres about 29 open seats on the flight we are hoping to get on. On Jetblue.com it says you can call 24 hours in advance to be added to the standby list. Does this put us at the top if I call exactly 24 hours from our original flight? Also does anyone know if the only seats left are the "extra leg room" seats do we still have to pay the extra fee for these seats on standby?

I would call JetBlue back and ask that question (calling 24hrs in advance does that put you higher on the list?)
I am assuming you are doing the regular standby that is free. Or are you doing the confirmed standby $40pp? This is just a guess but I would think that the people that pay the charge of $40pp would have priority over those not paying the fee. But 29 seats is alot of seats so if it were me I would be comfortable doing it without paying the money.
Can't answer your question about the extra leg room...I guess maybe you'll just see when you get there.:confused3
