Jet blue release dates?

For those who regularly fly with Jet blue can anyone tell me when they historically release their Mid May rates? Also when is the best time to book with them - immediately when they release as they sell their cheapest seats first then the price goes up as those blocks sell or do their rates fluctuate like other airlines and it is hit and miss and constant monitoring to get the best rate?

Most of the time Jet Blue releases them 6 months in advance. But things change.. But as a general idea.

Beginning of DEcember 2008 for this year. I think it was the 11th. (I had to book my May 2 return flight so I was watching).

Am I better to watch and jump on the flights right away with Jet Blue or better to do a wait and watch for a good deal? Do they release their cheapest seats first or does it regularly change?

That's hard to say and unfortunately I must say it depends. I found with my April/May flights this year they did not end up going below the price I had when I first booked. They increased and then bounced around from there, but didn't end up going below my booking price at any point. That may be different this time for you depending on many different factors. They will issue you a credit to your trueblue account to be used for future travel if it does end up going down, so that is nice. Hope that helps a little.

I've had good luck booking as soon as they release their dates. Prices have generally gone up from there although they do have 'specials' every so often. I booked our fares for Oct. as soon as they came out and they've continually gone up since then, although I did see one leg of the trip fall about $20 briefly, but since its just 2 of us I didn't bother to go for the credit.
