Hello everyone,

Just looking for opinions from anyone who flies either Delta or Jet Blue from JFK or LGA to Orlando. How has your experience been on these airlines (delays, cancellations...etc.)? I'm about to book flights for year end. I'm normally a delta gal but right now jet blue is slightly cheaper (both airlines still expensive though 🤦‍♀️)...

Figured I'd come here and get some opinions, experiences, thoughts.

Thanks in advance!

Google flights will show you on time percentage for a given flight. I've never flown JB, Delta is actually my preferred airline. What is "slightly cheaper"?

Cost is only one factor IMO. Flight times (arrival & departure), airport convenience (although I'm guessing there's not much to separate those two), parking fees (when comparing different airports), luggage costs (I have the Delta AmEx which gives me a free checked bag), and status (not that I have much) all would factor into the decision.

I have flown both. Never had a flight canceled with either - extreme weather conditions the exception into MCO. Only have had JetBlue delayed over 40 minutes once and that was leaving MCO. No delays that made a difference on either - maybe 10 minutes a couple of times due to cleaning.

Im sad to say the jetblue‘s customer service has been short staffed lately…. And jetblue used to me my goto airline ….

Delta will charge you a little more ( on average) but over all i think has better service lately.

but keep in mind all airlines are one winter storm away from a day or two of canceled flights and unhappy passengers…..

I would look into a few things regarding the Delta flights:

a) Is it operated by Delta or a commuter airline? I don't like small planes. JetBlue doesn't have the commuter airlines. With Delta you have to look for things like "operated by Endeavor Air DBA Delta Connection"

b) Is it going to have a tv screen on the back of the seat in front of me? JetBlue planes all have this. That's not just for my own viewing. It seems like JetBlue flights are more peaceful because everybody is watching tv.

Jetblue operates the A220. Which was Bombardier next regional jet, and i think they may still have some EMB 175s also a regional jet….

and delta has been upgrading there planes lately…. i have had inflight entertainment on most of my flight for the last year or so

Delta is my favorite airline (domestically, at least). Used to fly them JFK or LGA to/from MCO all the time before I moved to Orlando. They have the best service in general.
JetBlue is totally fine, too.
You won't be on a regional jet for that route regardless of which airline you choose.

We've flown JetBlue out of JFK to WDW for 7 of our last 8 trips, plus an extra trip to Orlando. And I've also flown JB to Montreal, Detroit, Boston, Tacoma, and Charleston 1-3 times each over the past 5 years. Almost all of those flights were out of JFK, though one was out of Newark...I think Montreal, because I actually prefer EWR to LGA, lol. We're in Brooklyn and just can't stand the commute to LaGuardia!!

Anyway.

We like JetBlue and have never had a problem or a delay for anything more than weather. One trip was just my elderly father who used a wheelchair (double amputee) and me and the staff was extremely helpful. We also got some kind of a discount because we went down for a funeral, but I think that is standard?

We've only flown Delta once and I don't recall any trouble with it but it was 2007, I think, so probably too long ago to really have an informed opinion.

I've always found that the earliest flight out, regardless of airlines, is the best route to go as it has the least chance for a delay (weather permitting) since the plane is already at the tarmac.
