Got an email last night that Jetblue changed our Disney flights. They are pretty drastic. On our arrival day, we had the first flight and were supposed to get to Disney in the morning, giving us that whole day. On our departure day, we were supposed to fly out at night, giving us that whole day at Disney too. Now we get to Disney at night, and leave Disney around noon :(

I'm pretty upset that we're essentially losing two Disney days. Does anyone have any experience with this? Do we have any recourse with JB to try and change to different flights? Since this wasn't OUR change, would be still be stuck with the $400!!! change fees?

TIA...

signed, bummed in VA!

Usually with a change that drastic they will let you pick a different flight (assuming they still have one that you like). We had them change a flight on us last year by 10 hours and it made us arrive so late that we would miss a scheduled family event. We called and they were quite willing to change us to a flight a day earlier with no charge. In fact the price on the flight we switched to was less than we had originally paid so we ended up getting a credit for the difference.

I agree. They usually will let you change your flights for free (subject to availability of course) when they make a big change like that. Try calling them and see what they can do.

Before you call, take a look at their schedule to see what other options they have. If you don't like the options, start looking at other airlines. With a drastic change, they should refund your money if your choose to go elsewhere.

Edit: Your signature says VA. Is that Richmond? I looked at their website and they only have that 1 flight a day. I would see what other airlines have and if you find something, call Jet Blue and ask for a refund. Or go a day earlier or stay a day later to get the time back, Jet Blue should change your dates without charge since it was due to their time change. Of course, you would be on the hook for an extra hotel night.

This just happened to me. I had a night flight they switched it to a very early morning flight. I called them & they were great let me pick any other flight I wanted ( I picked the one I orginally wanted but couldnt afford) they didnt charge me anything extra & were great!!

Yes it happened twice but our issue was with Air-tran. The first trip we lived with it. They were suppose to be Non stop but then were changed to connecting in Atlanta.

The 2nd time we booked with Air-Tran they changed the non stop to connecting again!!! So we cancelled. They refunded with no fees because it was their change. We booked with Delta.

I think Jet Blue would refund free of charge since they made the changes.

P.S. We will never fly Air-Tran again. I think it's standard practice for them to bait and switch.

Jetblue will work with you to find a suitable solution. The customer service at JB has always been great when I have to deal with them. They just changed my grandson's flight and we are still waiting to decide what to do. He was going to arrive at 8:30PM at MCO and now it's 11:00PM at MCO. BUT, he doesn't want to miss school another day, so we may be stuck with it or he flys in in the morning. I watch my times carefully, no matter what the airline. I agree, take a look at their schedule and decide what flights you want. There will be no charge to you.
