I saw it in Chicago with Dennis DeYoung as Pilot. You're right - he was PERFECT!!!! At the end, when the came out for their curtain calls, the orchestra broke into "Come Sail Away" and there he stood in his purple robes - playing an air guitar. ::yes:: The crowd went NUTS!

We also saw Dennis in January doing his solo act - again, an awesome performance. DH and I are HUGE Styx fans - having seen them 4 times in concert.

My DS who is 7 would be so jealous! One of his favorite songs is "Come Sail Away" - he knows every single word!

JCS is responsible for my majoring in technical theatre.

I'd been involved in the theatre program in high school, and it was clique-ish. The same girl got all the lead roles our senior year (six plays). As a result, when I went to college, I followed my other passion, radio production.

Then the college theatre department put on JCS. I was dating a member of the cast and ended up seeing the show 8 of the 10 nights. It is a powerful show!

I thought it was funny, all the guys in the theatre department grew beards for the show, whether they were performers or not. The following week, I was hanging lights for the next show and switched my major. It was cool, I was the only girl in the major!

I have the movie on DVD and the soundtrack to the movie. The original cast recording was good but the movie version had an extra song in it called "Could we start again please?"

Ted Neeley album put out an album after the movie. I had that too but sadly that is gone.
