Ok I posted a few day ago and said we were not going to go nov. 4-10 because that was jersey week. well it turns out that that week is looking more and more like the only week we will be able to go :sad2: . With that said does anyone have first hand knowledge about exactly how crowed it gets during that week. I mean is it "easter/thanksgiving" crowded? Or is it pretty manageable. Keeping in mind we are traveling with 4 children ages 13-2

We were there during Jersey Week last year and are going again this year. We actually didn't even know it was Jersey Week last time until a few days in when someone told us! The crowds were not bad at all. I have a feeling this year will be more crowded than last, but I still think that the crowds will be completely manageable. Just make sure you get going early and get to the parks at open. Have a great trip!

We were there two years ago during Jersey week. While it was more crowded than I had anticipated it was no where near spring break crowds and the weather was wonderful. Have fun and don't worry about it!

I haven't been during that time, but our trip this fall was originally planned during that same week (we changed to grab the free dining deal, not because it's Jersey Week!). In my own research, I was told that it's really the end of the week, near and on the weekend, that are "more" crowed, and the Unofficial Guide web site's crowd level chart reflects that as well, with the first part of the week being typically low crowd levels.

Just go and enjoy and don't worry too much about it! :goodvibes Just remind yourself that it's NOT going to be 4th of July or Christmas or Easter crowded!!

Thanks you guys are so encouraging. Thats why i cant get enough of this site. I can be a bit of a worry wort sometimes  I just want my kiddies first disney experience to be as near to perfect as possible.

That week is getting busier and busier, mainly because schools in many states now have days off that week, so not just us Jerseyans fillling the parks! :teeth: There is a long weekend in there (Veteran's Day), so that will make the Friday-Saturday VERY busy, especially at MK. MK will be a madhouse especially on that Saturday Nov 11th. That week overall will be much more crowded than the weeks surrounding it, I won't kid anyone on that. But it's not Spring break.

Now that I look at your dates, the beginning of your trip will probably not be too bad at all, as you are getting there on Nov 4th. The crowds would probably really pick up on Wednesday Nov 8th. The last couple days will be very busy, but before that you are probably OK. :)

We have been going down during Jersey week for at least the last 5+ years. Every year gets a little busier with the end of the week being the worst. Would we go again during that time...yes. It is great weather wise, and they have the F&WF going on. They changed the resort prices last year from value season to regular season during this time. I am sure it was because of increased crowds. Trust me...it is no where near as crowded as February vacation, Christmas, Thanksgiving or Easter week! ENJOY!

We have never gone during Jersey Week, I can't get off of work during November or December. My sister goes for the weekend, she is a teacher and plays hooky from the teachers convention. She said the crowds are managable and is booked for this year.

I live in Nj and I am a teacher. We only have Thurs and Friday off and VERY FEW students actually take the whole week off. I usually ask where they are going when they ask for work and I hardly ever hear Disney. Back when we had off school for election day, some schools used to take the whole week. But that hasnt happened any where near where I live for ages (and never happened in the district where I went to school and work :().
So I wouldn't worry about it. Unless everyone is just taking 4 day trips, not many kids are missing school, so they aren't in Disney! Have fun! I wish I could go!

I have been several times during Jersey week and a couple of times during Easter break. Jersey week is not nearly as crowded as Easter week! It will be a little more crowded than the week before or after but don't worry about it. The weather has always been spectacular when we've gone Jersey week, little or no rain and warm enough for the pools but comfortable for the parks. You're going to have a great time! :)

Jersey Week is a good time to go. It's not too crowded, and the weather is still warm and nice. The more popular rides have 60min waits tops, but the FP's usually never run out.

It is so awesome that we have our own week at Disney!

Now if they would stop letting people in from other states during that week.

Guilty. We're part of the problem this year. Our first year with a kid in school, our first time going to WDW during Jersey Week. We're even taking off the whole week, not just the last few days. Actually, we're leaving WDW before the big busy weekend gets in full swing.

My wife is a pediatrician. Before I became a born-again Disneyan and before we had kids, my wife told me all about Jersey week. In her large practice, parents have this weird habit of dragging their healthy kids to the doctor's office a few days before big events, to make sure their kids don't get sick. Strange but true. Kind of like, it's a few days before Christmas and the office gets slammed with crowds about to take the kids away to Grandma's house for Christmas week, so let's make sure they don't get sick for such an important occasion.

Well, this is how she learned of Jersey Week. SOOOO many parents come in the week before or early that week, trying to make sure their kids don't get sick before their WDW trips.

The joke's on them. No better way to get sick than hanging around an office full of sick kids!

As Steven Tyler might say:

Dream on, Dream on! :teeth:

I went during Jersey Week three years ago and thought it was wonderful.

I didn't even realize it was called that until I started reading these boards.

I'd go again during that time. The weather was great and the lines were manageable.

Go if that's the only time to go, but I wish people would stop looking at it negatively! Enjoy life!

I don't see Disney slowing down either. Pretty soon there will only be a handful of days that have "low" attendance.

Go and have fun!! :sunny:
