Friday, November 7
Cast of characters: Me, DW Marci, DD-8 Jen, MIL
Location: Rented condo at Windsor Palms
Time: November 1-9 including drive time to and from NJ
Our last day in town unfortunately. We decided not to do a park today. We wanted to see some other stuff, have time to pack and be rested for the drive home tomorrow.
We started by driving to the Poly. Jen and I rented a Water Mouse for 1/2 hour. That was a lot of fun. Jen especially liked jumping other boats' wakes. Then we took the monorail to the Contemp and walked thru the shops. We thought about having lunch at Concourse Steakhouse but it was only 11:30 and they didn't open until noon. So we rode back to the Poly and ate at Kona Cafe.
After lunch, we went over to DTD WestSide for the Festival of the Masters. We browsed the artists' booths, looked in a couple of stores and got a snack at the Candy Cauldron. We also got to see a free demonstration by Cirque Du Soleil - really neat stuff.
We took the water shuttle to the Marketplace to see the sidewalk paintings, then rode back to get our car and headed back to the condo. Jen and I went swimming for the first and only time all week. The pool at Windsor Palms is very nice and felt really good because it was nearly 90 degrees today.
After washing up, we had dinner at Giordano's then back to the condo to finish packing. I wanted to be on the road by 8:30 or so Saturday morning. We had a great trip, though much too short. DW and I are already trying to figure out when we can get down again. We definitely are not waiting another year. We used to go twice a year before my daughter started school, and this once a year business just won't do.
As for Jersey Week, we'll certainly do it again next year. Crowds were minimal and wait times were very minor, just like last year.
