Monday, November 3
Cast of characters: Me, DW, DD-8, MIL
Location: Rented condo at Windsor Palms
Time: November 1-9 including drive time to and from NJ
We planned to do EPCOT today but it was raining in the morning and as we were driving to the park, so at the last minute we decided to do MK instead. EC is lousy in the rain. Much easier to do MK and stay dry. As it turned out, the rain stopped shortly after we got there and it was sunny and hot all day.
We did all of Fantasyland including Mickey's PhilHarmagic. What a great show. They really did a teriffic job on that. I especially like how they animated the transitions from one movie to the next, like having the light on the water's surface with Ariel become the sun for Lion King. Then we headed over to Tomorrowland. Both Carousel of Progress and TimeKeeper are OPEN!! It was great to see them both again. We lunched at Crystal Palace for the first time since the rehab. The building looks great and the food was wonderful as always.
After lunch, we did Adventureland and Frontierland. Then we spent some time catching up with Jim, the piano player at Casey's, who we visit with every trip. We grabbed some hot dogs for dinner while we were there, then wandered through that side of Main Street.
We left MK and headed over to Yacht Club for our first ever Illuminations cruise. We met up with 4 other DIS folks (patabel and minniespal). It was great to meet them. Captain Bob let us board early and off we went. It was a perfectly clear nite, warm but not humid. We cruised around MGM then back past Boardwalk and finally anchored under the bridge between France and UK to watch the show. What a wonderful experience. It was very relaxing and I'd highly recommend it. Plus its a great way to meet some fellow DISers.
EPCOT tomorrow...
