Jerry Springer died.

A few years ago he was on QI in the UK.

Quite Interesting fact: he was born in a subway station in London during the war.

It’s a shame he didn’t do something better on tv rather than promote dysfunctionality.
He was a newscaster here locally. He did a commentary at the end of each newscast that was very well received. I encourage you to look on YouTube for his commentary from the 1990 about the peaceful transfer of power. (I’d post it myself but I’ll get in trouble.) He was loved by many and had a lot to say. So I guess he did do something better.

I know someone who died less than a month after diagnosis. She never left the hospital. Once you have symptoms it's already too late.
A cousin of mine made it 2 years with finely tuned chemo because he got it early. Turns out it Pancreatic Cancer is linked to BRCA2, I have the same exact genetic defect as my cousin and got my Ovaries out last year. It appears there is hope that finding more people in the same data set can help identify how this alters the body so better screening methods can be developed. At the moment, I am having a MRI one year and some sort of scoping the following year for the Pancreas. There is also research into micro markers of some kind. Trouble is the overlay between genetic defects and Pancreatic Cancer isn't well understood so the BRCA link is one of very few clues.

Jerry Springer was one of a kind.

He had a role on Married with Children as an alternate version of himself hosting a talk show called "The Masculine Feminist".

His was one of the few daytime shows I would watch once in a while.
I’d sit there trying to figure out wth was going on, lol.
He did seem like a nice man despite the trashy show.
May he RIP.

So sad, I saw he died of Pancreatic Cancer, it is such a stealthy killer. Wonder if he was BRCA tested, also wonder if earlier care could have helped him live a little longer. This is one of the cancers we still can't seem to get ahead of even after all this time :(

Other cancers that come from the abdomen, like appendix and gallbladder, are tough, too, as they’re often spread before they’re discovered. 🙁

RIP Jerry. Count me in as one of those whose high school years were definitely colored by memories of Jerry...and Jenny Jones - remember her? I think their studios were across from one another in the NBC building back in the day.

I saw him at the airport once, too. He was taller than I expected.

I remember he was on dancing with the stars as well. He wasn’t much of a dancer but he was a good sport.

His talkshow was a regular talkshow at first. The ratings stunk and the producers came up with a new format. He always said his show was trash TV, never made excuses for it.

He did do something better on TV. He was a reporter then a newscaster. It was when Donahue retired in '91 that he was asked to do the talkshow because the same company that ran his Cincinnati station did the talk shows too.
And he was actually a really good and fair judge on Judge Jerry.

Didn't Jerry Springer also host a game show for Game Show Network? Because I remember him being one of Game Show Network's biggest stars next to Brooke Burns and Mark Labbett
