Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!

Hopefully that's not what you'll be yelling when you hear about my family and our trip that begins this weekend at the House of the Mouse!

I am a 30 year old professional guy that is visiting the World with a single Mom, a brother just 20 months younger than me and a friend. Our stay begins November 14th for 7 nights and we depart on November 21st late afternoon.

Planning and organizing this trip has been a whole process in itself. Let me explain. My brother and I have never been really close - in fact, we're quite dysfunctional. It started when my parents divorced in 1985 (I was 5 then) and has continued since. He's been unemployed for almost 2 years with no lack of ambition and he lives with our Mom. I, on the other hand, have worked my entire life and I am career ambitious. I've always been the over-achiever while my brother is, well, on the other end of the spectrum.

Being a single parent, my Mom did alot for us and made sure we had the best of things, but we never really got to take family vacations together. It just wasn't in the budget. Now, my Mom is retired on fixed income and my brother is still unemployed, so I thought I would try to give them the perfect Christmas present: A trip to the World! I've paid for everything and this will be our first vacation together since 1987!

It took MONTHS (and I mean MONTHS!!!!!) of convincing everyone that this would be a good idea. I mean, we just don't do alot as a family - and when we do it usually turns out to be a lifetime channel worthy drama. I do alot with my mother, but my brother is just a completely different story! Now we're ready to go (I hope) and only time will tell...

My mom is turning 63, so this is also her birthday present in addition to her Christmas present. But I'll explain all about that later. My brother is 28, I'm 30 and my friend, Travis, is 30. We're staying at AKL in Savannah view rooms, and I have so many surprises up my sleeve! I've booked the Deluxe Dining Package and I'm hoping our faces are too busy muching on food to be shouting one liners at each other!

Day 1 - We start our trip off in the MK. We're eating at Cinderella's castle for lunch and I have the dessert party booked that night! They have no idea! To arrive this day I have ordered a huge gift basket from basketsbybetsy! I had them look at examples of ear hats and other hats online. I got them the ones they liked when we browsed through them together! They get some ear hats, ball caps, and assorted merchandise.

Day 2 - We head off to AK where we eat at Tusker House, Yak & Yeti, and Kouzzina, respectively.

Day 3 - We head off to Epcot and munch on some great food at Le Chefs and San Angel (they picked the latter of the two).

Day 4 - We're celebrating my Mom's birthday! We are back at the MK for the Crystal Palace and then to the Spirit of Aloha show. This day I've purchased an event from Gifts of a Lifetime for my Mom's birthday! At the end of her event which has to do with Stitch since he's her favorite character, she'll get a half karat Diamond ring and stuffed Stitch! She won't even know it's coming!!!!! At the Spirit of Aloha show my mom will get a Mickey Birthday Cake I ordered!

Day 5 - We start out at HS and eat at Sci-Fi Dine In (their request) and then do the fantasmic package at Hollywood Brown Derby! We see fantasmic then haul it over to the MK again for MVMCP! They have no idea we have tickets! WOOT WOOT!

Day 6 - We're back at EPCOT (I'm guessing it will be my mom's favorite) and we're celebrating Travis' birthday. We eat at Ohana for breakfast, Via Napoli for lunch, and Le Cellier for dinner). Then, that night I have booked the Illuminations Cruise from the YBC. Again, they have NO idea!!!! I've ordered a fruit tray, champagne, and another birthday cake - this time for Travis - from private dining to enjoy aboard the yacht.

Day 7 - We're back to HS and we eat at Prime Time Cafe (their pick) and for dinner we're back to our resort for Boma.

Day 8 - We spend some time at AK again and then bid farewell to Cinderella's Castle in the MK. I don't know if I'll be sad because I'm leaving or happy because I'm heading home ALONE!

What awful things could happen? How many outbursts could my brother really have? What embarassing things might one of my family members say? Only time will tell.
