hi everyone!
so much for my june 1 deadline--i got soo sunburned, i could hardly move the last couple of days...so back to eating right and hopefully playing some tennis soon,, i cant believe how sore iwas after that!!!!

well i was feeling better--sunburn is gone..i got sick again over the weekend and cant shake it--i havent eaten any real food since saturday afternoon..
o well! been eating better lately still and my stomach is looking smaller--very exciting!
been so busy with school and work lately, so i will try to post on everyones journals sono

Hi tracy and jaynee---i was actually just coming to post...t hanks for checking in with me!!!!
Things are getting better tracy since last time we talked..my dads surgery ended up being a shot in the spine and he needs to get it done next week as well, up to 3 times i think..
today, my mom is in the hospital for another surgery--im just stressed
add that with now teaching 6-10 year olds *which is crazy so far!!* and 2 nights a week i have summer classes, im going nuts!
I have lost weight though, and my shorts are loser, and i have not really found time to exercise ....
ill try to get to journals later..i llove ya guys and miss ya!!

I posted on the CB, but I wanted to let you know here too that your mom will be in my thoughts and prayers today. You too! I know that you have been under a lot of stress lately, so I hope once things settle down, you will take some time and do something special for you.

thank you sooo much ladies! i posted my update on the CB, but wanted to let you know here too...
mom took a little longer in surgery than expected, shes now in her room though...i saw her for a bit but had to leave ( i get really upset at people in the hospital--to the point of i feel sick to my stomach--im a wimp))...but shes in a lot of pain and they wouldnt give her meds yet..
its been a long, tiring day..right now, i am planning on getting in some comfy clean pjs (yes at 5pm!) and be a bum and lay and watch some dvds for awhile..
thanks guys for keeping tabs on me..
i was afraid to start posting again since i had been off track for awhile..still losing somehow, but not really exercising,,just no time...i was very ashamed..but enough of that--I AM BACK! thanks girls!!

hi guys--just a mini update for you all..mom has a fever of 104 that they cannot gtt to go down, so they are thinking infection..not much time this weekend, but just wanted to fill you in--thanks!

Hi Jen,

I am sending major prayers for you, your mom, and your dad. Listen Jen, I am a nurse. If your Mom is having pain, have the RN call the MD. It may not be timefor the morphine, but they could supplement with something else. Some pain is unavoidable, but it shouldn't be unbearable. She isn't bothering the nurse by asking for more pain meds. You also need to speak with the MD on rounds. Pain control is not something that is communicated enough. It is truly unfortunate. I hope she feels better soon.

Remember to take care of yourself too.

well mom is home--she still has a fever, but the dr sent her home with antibiodics--she has been a nurse for years and is the worst patient, so they let her come home with a promise that we call lif need me..

beth-i really wish you were her nurse while at the hospital..they were horrible!!! i couldnt believe how many times i had to go to the nurses station and tell them something, after mom had called them on the call button, or after her IV had been beeping for 30 min..

thanks guys for all your prayers and good thoughts....now that she is home, hopefully i can get back on target with eating and exercising!

Man, I thought I had already posted this, but then I remembered that my comp went down on me while I was submitting my post. argh... comps can be a curse!

I am so glad that DM is home and seems to be doing well. My DM is a retired nurse and, yes, she is a horrible patient too. We always have these long discussions whenever she has a procedure or even just an appt. I have to remind her to be a good patient. Plus she always makes me take a bunch of notes too! I don't mind at all... She's so good to me (and the kids too) I have nothing to complain about - except that she's now 2 1/2 hrs away - argh!

alright girls--i am officially back!
the week is over so now is time for a new start..

mom went to the dr today...got interesting news..her ovaries had tumors on it, and the tumors were actually stage 1 cancer...but the doctor said that this was a blessing in disguise, because if she had not had the tumors, they wouldnt have removed any of the surrounding tissue from the area, and now would have had to do another surgery, as well as chemo and radiation--since they did all that, she is clear! no chemo, no radiation!

next week, my mom and i are both going to a new endocrinologist--she has tumors on her thyroid as well, and mine are still possibly there..time to get it taken care of..

on the plus side--i am starting to really watch what i eat, and trying to get back into exercising--at last check i was right around 150 pounds..and im 5'7..hopefully, i can get down to at least 140, but ideally, 135ish..
An interesting story--i know i had mentioned writing to soldiers using anysoldier.com a few months ago..i have kept in contact with one of the guys and im actually going to meet him soon when he comes home from iraq...im really excited,, i feel like i have been talking to him forever
