Hello friends! I enjoy reading everyone’s PJ so I figured I would start my own!

Meet & Greet:
My name is Jennifer, I am 23 years old. My fiance’s name is Todd and he is 30 years old. I am from Chicago, Illinois and Todd is from Cleveland, OH. He moved to Chicago for work back in 2004. We met through my best friend Jen in 2006. We went out on our first date to TGIFriday’s and we just clicked… I knew that would we would be together forever. I absolutely love when Todd gives me a hard time about being on the boards all day. He says I should be working!! LOL I can't help it, it's so addicting!

The Proposal:
Todd and I were visiting his family in September 2008 and he had the best proposal planned but the weather ruined it. He was going to take me to Cedar Point and ask me as soon as we walked in so he could get a photographer to capture the moment. Unfortunately, that didn’t work out. He asked me the morning of 9/17/08, and believe me it was a total shock! He went outside to check the weather and when he came back inside he must have had the ring behind his back because he got to the edge of the bed and he was kneeling there and I said what are you doing get up here. And he managed to get some words out about our relationship, which I can’t really seem to remember right now. I was just so surprised and I don’t even think I said yes and first, he just put on the ring and we hugged for a long time and I teared up. Then, he said, “Is that a yes?” And I said, “Yes, did I not say that?” LOL Silly me all caught up in the moment forget to say yes, classic! So I called my mom right away and she couldn’t believe it either. Later that day we decided to have lunch with Todd’s brother and wife. We have a barbeque later that night to celebrate and of course his whole family knew what he had planned from the start.

Why Disney World:
I absolutely love Disney World; I’ve been there more times than I can remember! Todd on the other hand has only been there 1 time, and he can’t remember anything about it. I am so excited to have our wedding there because it’s going to be so new for him. I have never stayed at the Swan & Dolphin, but I’ve heard all wonderful things about it.

Ceremony & Reception:
We booked our wedding at the S&D for 9/16/2010. The ladies at Just Marry! Susan and Karen are wonderful! At this time we are not sure where we would like to have our reception. The reception package at the S&D is definitely out. I believe it comes out to be $125-145 a person. I have checked into Blue Zoo, Il Mulio, Portobello, ‘Ohana, & Big River Grille. We are keeping our options open because we have so much time to decide. We chose Randy as our photographer and asked that he stay with us for 4.5 hours. Hopefully that will be enough. As you notice, I am quite the picture person!

Disneymoon & At Home Reception:
We are planning a 4 night cruise on the DCL for our honeymoon. We are hoping to have a huge reception when we get back from our Disneymoon in October 2010.

Do-it-Yourself Projects:
I am hoping to make my own save-the-dates, newsletter, invitations, and ceremony programs. I was tossing around the idea of welcome bags, but I just think it will be a hassle because who knows which family/friends will stay on Disney grounds and who will stay off grounds. The last thing I want to worry about is if they received our welcome bags. But, believe me I love the idea!!

lol, I get told I should be working instead of being on the boards all day long too... :lmao: Stupid life, trying to steal away our Disney time!

Your plans look pretty good, I'm in the same boat as you, I love the idea of welcome bags, but...

Can't wait to see how everything turns out!

I was just curious...what is it like to have your reception/dinner at 'Ohana in your wedding dress? Is that even allowed? I am open to suggestions for the reception site, so if you have any thoughts please feel free to let me know! I know there are endlesss possibilities out there and I know I'm in the right place :thumbsup2 Thanks in advance everyone!

Congrats on planning your wedding! Do you know anyone who is associated with the military? I'm having my wedding and reception at the Shades of Green and the prices for the reception are very good. All you need is someone with a military ID to sponsor you. I will keep thinking of other reception sites. Can't wait to read more

just wanted to say hello, congrats and welcome.looking forward to hearing more of your plans....:goodvibes

Aww thanks so much! Oh I heard of SOG!!! Gosh I wish I knew someone in the military. Let me see if I can come up with someone :) Thanks for your help!!!

Just wanted to say hello and welcome! :wave2: I'm not having a Disney wedding, but all the brides on this board are so lovely and friendly for all things weddingy you'll soon wonder how you coped without them! :goodvibes Happy planning!!

Thanks Bob! Believe me the brides have helped a great deal already, more than they probably know!!

I found you!:rotfl:

I am not going to be doing a planning journal i am going to do a trip report and planning journal in one!

I am not using just marry, i have gone direct to the hotel and got an independant wedding planner.

We are having the ceremony and the reception at the crescent terraced. We are having a BBQ style buffet and we are paying $45 per person I think this is excluding taxes.

If you want the contact details of the catering manager at the swan let me know.

Any help you need contact me!

Haha, you sure did! I had no idea you could go through the swan directly! The outside BBQ sounds like a great idea, I will talk this over with my DF. We also chose the crescent terrace. I think I have their e-mail b/c I was asking them about a cocktail/ appetizer hour after the ceremony. Thanks for your help! Feel free to update your wedding plans on my planning journal, I'm dying to know what you have going on :)

I did initially want an actual BBQ but they said it would work out too expensive so i chose the buffet option.

We were going to have the reception at the west courtyard but then decided to have it at the crescent terraced to give us more space for the cake, the food and dancing afterwards!

My contact at the swan is Todd Scott.

Ask as many questions as you like!!:thumbsup2

Ask Susan if they can customize a cheaper reception menu for you in one of the Swan ballrooms! They did a great job working with my budget! It certainly doesn't hurt to keep it in the running as an option. I haven't been able to get bluezoo to send me prices!

I just had to share this with you guys… last week a package came for me in the mail… DF had mentioned that he had a surprise for me earlier in the week, so I called him up to ask if it was from him. He said it was and to wait until he got home from work to open it. Anyone who knows me knows that I couldn’t wait to find out what was in the box, so of course I read the shipping label. It said Mickey’s Treasure Box from Lenox. As soon as Todd walked in the door I ripped the box open. It was the cutest thing ever…

DF said he got it for me so I would stop leaving my ring all over the house at night time because I always have to look around to find it every morning. I thought that was the sweetest thing ever, he almost made me cry.

Oh my god, that box is too cute! :cutie: How nice is your DF to get that for you!
Hmm, you just reminded me that I'm not wearing my ring... Where did I put it... :lmao:

Welcome, congrats and happy planning! :goodvibes

Sounds like you've got a great start and I'll surely be reading along! popcorn::

Hey friends! This weekend was semi-productive, everything is coming along slowly, but we have lots of time. Todd and I purchased magnetic paper for our Save the Date's this weekend. Every since I started receiving bridal magazines, I've fallen madly in love with a Maggie Sottero dress, Sabelle. I called around all day on Saturday to try to find it so I could try it on. Some stores explained they didn't have that style in the store, but they could borrow it from the designer for $30-$60 which would then be deducted off the purchase price. I was reluctant to agree on that. I continued calling boutiques in our area. Finally, the last place I called was Shelley's Bridal, and they have the dress there for me to try on! I am so excited!! I made an appointment for Saturday at noon. :cloud9: Here is the dress: http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress....eywordType=any&page=0&pageSize=12&style=A3227

lol, I'm a thread killer too!

I love your dress, I've got that pic saved as a dress I want to try on :lovestruc
