Jennifer and Luke's PJ/TR NY/WDW HM 6/6/2010,Wedding photos up! 12/08

Yeesh, you'd think professional jewellers/repairers would know what they were doing!! I hope it all gets fixed for you, and doesn't happen again!

All the diamonds are pretty snug in my ring, so I don't really have to worry about them falling out or anything, but I still won't wear my ring to bed, or while washing up or showering or gardening or anything like that. I'd absolutely hate it if something happened to it! And knowing DF he'd take it as a personal affront :rotfl:

update on my ring.

SO....I got a call from a sales girl (yes manager send your poor sales girl who knows NOTHING to deal with bridezilla) okay...so anyway this lady made me so so so angry. she called very nice and bubbly leaving a message that no they can not reschedule the jeweler and I have to come in on sunday to drop it off. NOW me and DF never get full weekends together...I mean NEVER....so this is our first full weekend since like...July? and guess where we have to go?! thats right ZALES. so saying that this is the insane conversation I had when I called her back. pretty much that I would have to come in on sunday and there was nothing they can do about that. so instead I decided to get very angry about the manager who clearing could careless and is just being "polite". The second time when it broke and I told him I think we will have to go somewhere else for our wedding rings because I don't trust them he was like "well you have to do what you have to do, if you feel you need to go somewhere else!" :scared1: WRONG ANSWER DUDE. I clearly wanted him to tell me how he was going to take care of us and give us a discount and such. So now i'm yelling at this girl and saying how I don't understand why they can't fix the ring. where were these people trained?! I am not the only person with a pearl ring or THIS ring for that matter (they still carry my ring) so they need to know how to fix it. SO she goes on to tell me that pearls are very fragile...which makes me explode. (all at school might I add...) The pearl is not cracking or breaking its not staying on the ring because they aren't fixing it properly therefore it has NOTHING to do with the pearl its the idiots that are fixing it. the pearl is fine. Now this lady clearly wants to win the prize for pissing off a bride the most, she goes..."Maybe this is just not the right ring for you and we can find you a different one" OKAY LADY this is a million times worse then we can give you a new ring (the same as my old one) now she is saying that DF bought me the "wrong ring" Seriously how stupid can these people get. I obviously start saying how I don't want another ring this is the ring he gave me, I love my ring and I do not want to add prongs like a diamond I want the same damn ring, looking the way he gave it to me. If it was made in the first place they can fix this one the SAME way it is originally made. I had her on the phone for 30 mins. so at the end of this she goes. so come in on sunday and I will sit with you and we will give it another try. Seriously? another try. what is this? a game? This is not lets try and see what happens....fix my ring! So I go..well now my biggest fear is at the ceremony it will come off when DF is putting the ring on...to this she goes "OH! whens the wedding!!" like all excited. I am not playing the happy wedding game (clearly I am going to get married..this is my engagement ring!) she is really dumb. These people should be going above and beyond to make me happy. This is the THIRD time!!

so...because of all this I have decided to talk to higher up. I am calling the corporate office. DF is a manager of urban outfitters and said what happens when a customer calls the big guys. they freak out and do whatever to help the customer. I am so so angry/upset I could scream. So after work...I will be calling Texas (hoping they are still there...) and FREAKING out about this store.

sorry for my ranting. I need to tell someone and this way I can remember all the "wonderful" things these people have said.

So...I another note...I have started writing that email. Its weird because I have been waiting to do this for so long and now that I am about to....I feel so upset and so defeated...I can't believe I need to do something like this. I just keep blinking back tears as I'm writing it. I hate this

Oh Jennifer!!! I am just getting caught up on the drama! I am sending good vibes your way :goodvibes So sorry you are having issues!

I completely understand how you feel about your ring. And i think i would have been screaming at the suggestion of "thats not the ring for you" :scared1:
I mean really, where do they find these people! She has obviously never been engaged/married.

I hope you get some sort of resolution/compensation from your escalation! I know Zales has the lifetime warranty or whatever and so its free to fix your ring, but I would definitely take it someplace else to have it fixed if you dont get the answer you are hoping for from corporate!

Omigod, I cannot believe how rude that girl was to you. Is she nuts suggesting that it wasn't the ring for you? :headache: I'm sorry that you have to waste part of your weekend taking care of this and I hope that you get a better response from their headquarters.

Hang in there, it'll all work out.

I totally agree. I went through the same sort of thing with Fred Meyer. The solder kept cracking one of my rings and I took it back twice because of the lifetime warranty. No surprise, it would re-crack within a matter of weeks. I eventually got fed up (I hated not having my ring for over a week each time they had to fix it!) and went to a local jeweler and told them what was going on. They gladly fixed it for me for relatively cheap (I think $30ish). And guess what? The solder hasn't broken since! I think you should just go to another jeweler and fork out a little dough to have it fixed properly. This piece of jewelery is waaay too important to be left in the hands of amateur jewelers.

Hope it all works out for you! :goodvibes

I'm so sorry you're going through all this sweetie! How aweful! I cant believe she said that to you.

I think you should absolutly write to the higher ups about this! Keep us posted on everything!

WOW-i am just catching up on your situation with you ring. that is ridiculous. i know that pearls are delicate and tend to fall out of settings more then diamonds (this happened to me in HS :( but this DEF sounds to me like Zales has no clue what they are doing and not setting it properly. for them to even suggest that you get a new ring is so rude and insulting. i am sorry that you have to deal with this. i know zales has the lifetime guarantee but i would think about bringing it to a professional jeweler to get it set properly. i always hear about problems with chain jewlery stores. i am sure you can find a non chain one who will be able to help you and hopefully not charge you a lot. i bet if you go to the diamond district in NYC you can bargin down whatever it may be. those guys always barging with you. sending some pixie dust your way!pixiedust:

i do have to suggest that for breakfast you should totally do ohanas! it is my favorite and i will probably do it more then once for my wedding and HM week. they have great food-the orange mango juice is AWESOME and they have great scrambled eggs along with mickey waffles-and you have mickey, pluto, lilo and stich. 1900 park fair is also great for breakfast and dinner and the mad hatter is always there for breakfast (not sure about dinner as we did not do dinenr there last year and i don't remember:lmao:) so DF can see him because i know he is hard to find in the parks. last time we went, i was at the buffet line and alice started screaming my name to see my ring(df and i had the just engaged pins on) it was hillarious and those characters are alot of fun.

i hope everything works out with your MOH. i know it is tough when friends don't act the way they should. it sucks but i have realized in this whole process who my true friends are and who i can rely on. just be careful when writing the email so that it does not sound mean which sometimes happens even though you don't mean it to. here are some goodvibes to go with the pixie dust!:goodvibes

I had no fear for my ring until now!!! They have no idea what they are selling pretty much. Thanks so much hun

I really don't know where they get those people from. TERRIBLE I know I know...its just with the wedding and all out of pocket is pretty tough right now. Thanks hun!

Thanks! I think she was completely nuts. or didn't like her job or something! :rotfl: we will SEEEE (update below <3)

hm....well its good to hear I'm not alone! I am giving it one more go around. and then I freak out!!!! haha i totally already am. I don't know i'm so at my breaking point. They SHOULD know how to fix their own jewelry? right?

I'm so sorry you're going through all this sweetie! How aweful! I cant believe she said that to you.

They really have no clue when it comes to their own products. which makes me laugh. DON'T sell things you don't know how to fix. They don’t seem to understand the concept of an engagement ring and sentimental value. Thanks so much for pixie dust!!
I am not getting excited for Ohana breakfast!! I love Pluto! So I will be very excited. I love how Alice was yelling your name that’s so cute! Hehe I love Disney.

Thank you everyone! I tried to answer everyone but I knew I was going to recap here SO…lets try this. Nothing is fixed…but things are on their way.

WARNING…this may be lengthy

Lets start with Zales because it leads in to MOH. So yesterday…I am sitting at work writing my MOH the email and FREAKING out…crying….it was bad. But my bosses were out so..it didn’t really matter. I was also listening to Emmy the Great’s “My party is better than yours” which makes me upset but is how I feel. Okay so this unknown number calls and leaves a message. Its Debbie from Zales Corp. which is confusing to me because I hadn’t called them yet!!! So I find out that the store told her to call..she is the District Manager. She was 8 MILLION times WORSE. I can’t even believe it! She clearly knew I was going to upset and was defense immediately. I will not recap everything but she spent the whole time interrupting me and screaming (yes SCREAMING) “JENNIFER!!!” excuse me? Are you my mother? Am I a 6 year old child who won’t clean their room? She was scolding me! It was insane. She told me that they would send it to their head jeweler (good start) but it’s a pearl and has already broken and will probably break every week for the rest of my life!!!!! :scared1: (wait for it) then she said she had a pearl necklace and she used super glue to keep it together. Which I screamed “Are you telling me to super glue my engagement ring!!!!!!!!” She was insane. I can’t even remember everything it was retarded. I was so angry I got off the phone and sobbed. Then DF told me to calm down and call Corp. (which she DARED me to call) so…..this is where my life takes an INSANE turn….

So…I dial the number…it says press 1 for blah blah you know the deal….so I press 3…which just HAPPENS to also be my phones auto dial for my MOH and SOMEHOW I still have no idea how…it stops calling Zales Corp and calls my MOH. She answers I am beyond caught off guard and am like oh well I was calling zales and I have no idea how I called you……she goes “Yeah we should talk its been a while” Well….the flood gates open and I blurt out “That’s because you never return my calls” Well she freaks out starts yelling that I am crazy and I always do this blah blah. Exactly what I knew she would act. So She gets off the phone so I figure the best time to send the email and I send it. There was TONS of tears all night buuuuut…We have been back and forth emailing. She has apologized and understands why I’m upset and we have to talk it over. I mean nothing is solved but she knows that I am upset and that she ****ed up. She even said if you want another MOH I understand. So she gets it. I guess we will see. She was suppose to call at 7. Haha its 7:52 so not much has changed. But as of now she knows?! Yeah..

Back to Zales? So today I called corp and there was no way I could get through to a big guy…so I talked to customer service but it was executive office customer service. So now I have a case number!!! Hahaha its like I called the police or something. So the nice lady at customer service told me that they have to get statement from the manager and District manager and then the Regional director is going to handle my case. So I am sure they will say I was rude and I was unreasonable but at least its moving. I have told them I do not want to speak to either manager ever again and only want to talk to someone higher. Now the downside to this is that it can take up to Wednesday for him to call me BUT it will get done right (hopefully) this time. We will see what happens!! Hopefully they will move it along.

So that is whats going on now. I cried a lot yesterday and then today I went shopping….because of course that’s what I needed and got my fave food for dinner and a cupcake!! Yay.

So I have gotten my veil…I don’t know if I like it? I’m not sure. It came yesterday so I was already like crazy so…I feel like the crystals are too big? It was cheap….so I’m not freaking.

Okay so here are a bunch of test pictures. I didn't know how to give you guys a good idea so here is a bunch!!!

so what do we think?

so this has taken me about an hour to write and take pictures. Guess who never called? More beer and time for my cupcakes!

:grouphug:Thanks everyone for your words of wisdom and help! I know I have whined a lot.

Me and DF are going to Fright Fest (six flags) tomorrow!!! Make up for a TERRIBLE week

Omigod, I can't believe the way they treated you! For her to yell at you in any situation is completely inappropriate in my opinion. And she was actually suggesting you glue it yourself?! That is completely nuts. I really hope that it gets resolved for you and they really should give you guys some type of discount or something to make it up to you.

I bet I know what happened with your MOH, if it's speed dial you just have to hold that button down for a few seconds. Which you might have done by accident since you were upset and also probably reading the number off of something so it would take you a little longer to dial anyway. I'm glad she at least realizes what she did wrong and I hope it gets better now.

Hmmm, on the veil, I see what you mean, those crystals do look too big, but in most of the pics it doesn't look bad...and if you only plan on wearing the veil for the ceremony I think it will be fine.

Ok so i just read your rant...

I can't believe Zales is giving you such a hard time about the ring. And for that women to speak to you like that is unacceptable. I hope you got her name! Even though its going to take longer for you to get in contact with the higher ups atleast you're not dealing with the middle management people who clearly have no knack for customer service!

As far as the veil... i kind of like it. I looked at the crystals on my veil and i think yours are only a tiny bit bigger if not the same size. I'd wait until things calm down a little bit with everything else and then make your decision about the veil

I'm sorry about all the drama (ring and MOH wise). I have been experiencing HUGE drama with my maids, but luckily my MOH is in my corner!

Anyway, I love the veil! I don't think you should worry too much about the crystals. If you were hoping they would show up in photos, I don't think they would if they were any smaller. I think the general rule is that things (accessories, makeup, etc) need to be exaggerated to show up...I hope that makes sense!!

Yeah...not that I look back on it the conversation was so insane it was hilarious. I am going to push to get a necklace or something for the wedding! :rotfl: When I told her I wanted them to go above and beyond she yelled back "Well i'm not giving you your wedding bands!" which was so insane to say. especially because the nice people at Kays already sold us ours!

I hate phones! ugh....still haven't talked to her. trying to not let it bother me.

I have to decide. I can't return it...so I might just try it on at my hair trial and dress fitting and see what we think. If I hate it then...we can look for a different one

I def got her name. she knew what was happening when I started asking for it and her title...she was getting more mad. I will hopefully know more by Wednesday.

hm...I guess i'll have to see. my head is a bit cloudy right now...so yeah. I may think differently in a week or two

Oh lucky you! I'm jealous hehe

hmm...yeah I think your right. its hard to tell when you first get something and you are like wow that seems big....thats why I tried taking a bunch of photos (me jumping around my apartment like an idiot in it) to see if it looked okay. We will see at the hair trail and i'll make sure to get lots of pictures outside and inside with it. Thanks dear

Ok so I just got caught up on your PJ and I can't believe how crappy Zales treated you. That was completely and udderly inappropriate and anyone who talks to their customers that way so should not be in business at all. Your situation really upsets me because my DF got my engagement ring from Zales and to know that if I have any problem with my ring that I might be treated that way is really upsetting. Hang in there and I hope everything works out. Oh and I can totally relate to the fact that your ring keeps breaking. My DF got my promise ring from Rogers and Hollands and it's a pearl ring too, anyway the pearl has fallen off 3 times and every time it breaks I have to drive an hour and a half to my home town (I am away at school) and get the darn thing fixed. What's really funny is that on the third time the lady said that I should try super glue because that's all they really do anyway to fix it in the jewelry world, but of course they don't call it super glue, lol. So I totally know what you mean. The ladies were really nice about it though, they told me that pearl rings are pretty sensitive and that normal wear leads to frequent breakage, if you ask me they need to advertise that so they don't get a bunch of anger woman like me ready to hurt them when their pearls fall off, lol.

What a huge mess! I was about to say at least it sounds like you and your MOH are getting back on track, but then I changed my mind. That's one thing that really annoys me, people saying they're going to call at a specific time, and then not calling at all! :headache:

Hopefully you'll speak to someone reasonable on Wednesday, there's nothing worse then feeling like you're fighting an entire company.

I don't think the crystals are too big at all. I think they're just the right size to give you a bit of shine. When I went dress shopping with a friend for her wedding she tried on a veil with crystals and it got a "no" vote from me, because she had the top layer over her face, and it really reminded me of one of those fly hats - they're probably more of an australian thing, but if you don't know what I'm talking about, think bee mask with flies caught inside it :rotfl: not good, but how you had it in your pictures actually looks a lot nicer, I think it was simpy because she planned on wearing it over her face.

I just realized that I have read through your planning journal and keep checking in but have never posted. So I shall post. First off I just wanted to say thanks for posting the shoes with the hearts on them I really like those and may get them for my home reception because I don't want to wear heels for hours. Also everything you have planned so far looks lovely. Oh and I just wanted to mention that I have a pearl engagement ring, and I have had zero problems with it and believe me the pearl should have popped off several times, so it is definitly possible for it to stay on so keep up the fight with Zales. Good luck.

If you have a diamond from Zales they will kiss your feet. They just don't like me becauses its a pearl! silly people....Your story scares me! I don't want it to keep breaking :sad1: It also drives me up a wall they keep calling my ring a promise ring. All I want to say its not a promise, he IS marrying me :rotfl: I just hope I have better luck with mine from now on.

Yeah...it kind of makes my head explode. I feel like don't tell me you will do something if you won't I'd rather you tell me you won't at all and surprise me.
OMG thats so funny with the veil with your friend. I do know what you mean. The veil is just for the ceremony so I can pretty much say I had a veil! hahaha we will see I might hate it with my dress in December. thats why I wanted to be cheap! haha So i'm glad you don't think they are too big.

welcome! thanks for reading! I love those shoes. They are on their way soooooo I will give an update if on how they are! I can't wear heels on a normal basis soooo for the wedding it was a big NO. and DF is almost the same height as me so I didn't want to tower over him :rotfl: I am SOOOOOO happy you said that about your pearl. Makes me able to breath again! i have been worrying that I am crazy. We will see they have til Wednesday to call and then I have been told to call and bug them haha

Okay so mini update....because Katie mentioned it now I can't stop thinking about it!!! haha

so HAIR

this has been a big headache with me. I want sparkle but I don't want a tiara (my SIL wore one it hers) so...originally there was no veil...but clearly that has changed! haha. The veil is only for the ceremony, just so I can feel bridey and such....and I may end up hating it and not wearing it...but right now I think I like it! so yes hair. I need something that will look great once the veil is off. I REALLY wanted fresh flowers...that was the original plan...now I still want them even with the veil. Let me know if I am over doing it. I THINK this is what I want.
now I think EVERYONE had this in their hair inspiration..but I love it..(Ironically it took me forever to find it!!)
FeminineHairstyle.jpg

So in her hair are flowers and crystals. I would want them going down my hair twisted in the curls? Is this too much with my veil? I wanted crystals in the hair because when I take the veil away those crystals will go with it!
so like most people on here I LOVE scrap_vamp's hair crystals(sorry! I stole a pic)
JC014278-17-09.jpg

I went right out and bought 3 packs. So I was thinking these (not as many) and stephanotis scattered? (I want some in my bouquet)
I also like how this hair

and this

(sorry I stole!)
but would obv want half down like the others

One other problem I am having is bangs or no bangs. I have been growing out my hair because it was really choppy before and decide to grow my bangs out so I would have more options. so..

Just to remind you this was the one I was leaning towards
green-weddings-016.jpg

I think I am still set on my BMs having full blue hydrangia bouquets
I am back and forth...on this I think I want the BMs and the Gm to have the light blue and my and DF to have yellow. so i can't decide if I want the original one I choose with no blue hydrangias just white and just blue pearls in the stephanotis like this
jenniferbouquet.jpg

the greenish flowers would be yellow
i'm so bad a deciding
OR do I want a mostly yellow will the white stephanotis like the first one!?!

I suck

ANYWAY

my MOH
so she texted me yesterday and said she wanted to talk whenever. So I called her at night after me and DF had a little snuggle and watched a movie. I kind of expected what I got but its kind of the way she is. She was clearly sorry, but didn't know how to fix it. So she just didn't talk about us not talking...she is just trying to make it better. she said in the email I can't changed what happened but I can make it better by talking now. Which I just have to except I guess. She is trying now that I brought it to her attention. So we just talked and catched up and I tried not to bring up the wedding just yet. She actually brought it up...though her stepmom was confused why I was doing so much so far in advance!!! I was like really? I only have 7 months! I am behind! :rotfl: She was surprised I had a venue and honeymoon booked! So anyway she asked what I needed help with...she didn't understand that I really just wanted her to want to know what I am doing/choosing. You ladies are so great right now I don't need help choosing anything! :grouphug: So things will hopefully get better we talked for an hour and she said she would call me when she got back from Penn. later this week. I still haven't talked to her about the dress. it was too soon for me to start on that. Also I am still back and forth on if I should ask my other friend to be my BM I wanted 3 and I was going to ask her....mainly because she will feel totally left out if i don't (I only have 3 main gfs and the other 2 are involved) but she has a BF now and when she has a BF she is MIA. I will still decide....later haha DF hasn't even picked his GM! so whatever

I also think I found dresses for my Bridal shower and rehearsal dinner...but I can't find them online so I will have to take pictures. DF is a manager at Urban Outfitters and he tells me when all the good sales are so I got $70 dress for $10! awesome. pictures later
I thought I had more to post...but now I can't remember...maybe more later!

What to do with the hair is so stressful, I am getting married in 7 weeks and have still not made up my mind. Although I must ask, yes I know I am stealing all of your stuff, but where did you get the crystal things that Scrapvamp had?

claires believe it or not. They call them body jewels but they work on the hair. and come with 3 different colors..so thats why I had to buy so much. but one of the other colors is yellow...so I may use them

Oh wow... this is one crazy update! lol

I LOOOOOVE hair! since i have no idea how i'm doing mine you're giving me some things to think about.
I also have the first picture in my wedding folder. It is super pretty and i love when brides have real flowers in their hair! I'm also not a fan on tiaras. I wore one to my senior prom... that was enough. So i like the sparkles here and there through out. It'll compliment the veil too!

I also like scrapvamps hair too!! Oh it was so whimsical!

As far as flowers, i LOOOOOOOOOOOVE that bouquet with the orchids. Its Stunning!

I also like th full blue hydrangias for the BMs. its really pretty
