jennifaerie's planning journal - 3/2 - Made it on the Maggie Sottero Website!

Jennifer it sounds like everyone was thrilled to throw a fabulous party for you! It sounds like they really tried to do something you would enjoy. I just made a memory book. The whole time I was doing it I kept thinking it's not as good as yours!! :)

Val, you are so right! I am my own worst enemy.

I bet your book is *gorgeous!* :) If you used the pictures from your shoot alone, woooo! If you added even more than that, then double woooo! :)

I have to admit, I really do want the pictures!! I am so shallow :rotfl:

I loved reading the story without the pictures first though. It had more meaning that way! I can just imagine Rob sitting there and holding your hand - so sweet! :lovestruc I can also imagine him wandering about the driveway like this  I am so happy for you that those special people made it to your surprise! :goodvibes

No, no... not shallow! Most people are visual people, so it helps to have a picture to work with the words. I'm always the one taking pictures, so I feel helpless right now! :) But once Tamara starts feeling better, she'll pass them along to me.

Jennifer,

Your showers sounds so nice (except the minor issues with food allergies, lol). I hope you really did enjoy how much your family and friends love you! Cant' wait to see pics also. Your cake was beautiful!

Ooh! PinkCakeBox posted the cake!

The Cake

OK, this is too funny!! I read my email from them this morning and thought, WOW that is cute (and the cupcakes too) and Jennifer would just love those! I saw the Autumn themed wedding cake posted a day or two ago and thought of you then too!! :rotfl:

Sounds like you had a wonderful bridal shower, except for a few minor glitches. My son has a food allergy and I never expect others to cater to his needs! That's what I'm for! I always have approiate food and snacks around for him. I'd never ask a host for something special just for him!

Jennifer - Your cake was gorgeous and the story was so sweet! You have obviously made quite the impression as a darling to the people at the bakery. :cutie: Any chance someone has pix of the cupcakes you've ordered?

Jen that was a wonderful shower story!!! It has all the highs and lows you want in a story! You cake is beautiful!!! Very simple and elegant! I want to see those cupcakes though!!! :)

Thank you, neighbor! :)

I finally have pictures of the cupcakes, both the ones for Tamara (well, some of them), and the ones for Sara.
Tamara's:
This is her car.

Her cat, Snickers (I always smile when I see you talking about Snickers, Megan!)

Tamara loves Lush products.

Self-explanatory.

She's all about fashion...

...and cupcakes!

These are Sara's:

So I finally got some pictures from the shower. My mom made me a little album (it was this soft, burgundy velvet). Then Tamara sent me some. It's funny, they were both essentially the same pictures. These were Tamara's.

Here is the cake before it started to bleed/melt.

Here is the room where most of the shower took place. You can see they decorated it for fall.

These notepads were for games.

They put some fall garland up.

A closer look at the table set-up.

The chair at the end of the table is wrapped in garland. That was the "seat of honor".

The fondue fountain.

The food spread.

Friends and coworkers-- Melinda is on the left (she was kind enough to make desserts for Rob's family). Sara is on the right. Sara is known as my twin at work. She's also the lucky owner of the second batch of cupcakes. Or was, as I think there's only one left.

This is me walking into the house, oh-so-surprised. Yeah. :) Everyone yelled surprise anyway.
mewalkingin.jpg

This is the point where I completely lost it because my friend, who is due the week after the wedding, drove all the way up (and back home in one day) to see me.
mecaroline.jpg

This is my mom. Or the back of her.
memom.jpg

I'm talking to one of my favorite coworkers, Becky (she lost sixty pounds on Weight Watchers and looks FABULOUS).
mebecky.jpg

The table closest is full of my family. I'm standing nearest to my mom. The two with their backs facing the camera are my cousin and my aunt. The woman and little girl are my brother's girlfriend, Vicki and her daughter, Riley. The people far off in the back are mostly Rob's family (they sat in different corners in the room!).

The cake portion of our program. Everyone wanted us to cut the cake together to practice. Yet, we had to stand perfectly still so they could take pictures.

This is the point where I'm supposed to feed him cake and said, Forget you! It's mine!
robmecake3.jpg

He does get to eat some, though.

Here I am, with our first present.
openingpresents.jpg

Smiling for the camera.
openingpresents2.jpg

Everyone was playing gift bingo, so I had to holler out what I received.
memoney.jpg

We are apparently oohing.
openingpresents3.jpg

Becky playing bingo. I think coworkers outnumbered everyone else. The woman in the blue shirt is Sara's aunt, Elaine, and also a coworker. The woman all the way in the back in deep concentration is Rob's mom (so now you have an idea of what the moms look like).
beckyelaine.jpg

My brother injected some humor into the shower by sending along inflatable husband and wife dolls. Rob models the husband.
robdoll.jpg

Modeling some more.
robjendolls.jpg

This present was incredibly heavy. And it had fuzzy paper. I like fuzzy paper.
jenfuzzypaper.jpg

I also really like trays, I guess. :)
openingpresents4.jpg

We got a really sweet, personalized apron. I had to model it for my family.
meapron.jpg

Melinda was kind enough to make a bouquet (two, actually) for me. I had no idea that this was some tradition for the rehearsal.

More hanging out.

This is what the cake looked like inside (almond with amaretto buttercream!).

Oh OH oh! Did you eat the fondant?? :lmao: How did it taste? You're so lucky to have a PinkCakebox cake!!

Ha ha! Yes, Jennifer, I ate it, and I liked it. The taste was very similar to frosting, but the consistency was really nice (very soft), so it added to the flavor.

That had to be one of the best presents of the day.

I am trying not to turn completely green - it can't be attractive :lmao: The cake and cupcakes look so fabulous!!!!!! What a great party :goodvibes

I am absolutely loving your planning journal. All your plans look really fun and original, and those cakes look way too yummy for words.

All the best to you and your fiance, hope you have a wonderful wedding!
