Ok so I keep reading about jellyrolls. What is it and why is it so great? Let me know what you think. Thanks. :goodvibes

Jellyrolls is awesome! It's a dueling piano bar, and any song you request they will be able to play. You usually go up and give them a dollar to play a song. Its great because a lot of people get into it, and it can get really crowded, and they play great songs you can sing along to. The only thing is that there's a $7 cover charge, but it's well worth it. I think it's open till 2 am too, which is a plus. After spending all day running around in the parks, it can get late, and sometimes it's nice to go there or to ESPN to relax and get a drink.

We haven't been to Jellyrolls but we have been to Howl at the Moon in Baltimore and Crocodile Rocks in Myrtle Beach, which are also dueling piano bars. They were both a ball! DH and I love it there. They play songs that everyone knows and can sing along to, they also have a bunch of audience participation songs that are fun and funny. You may want to get there early because they can get really crowded. Have fun!

Can you take your kids to Jellyrolls? I've been to Howl at the Moon in New Orleans and what a blast.

Do they serve food? Or just drinks? Thanks. :goodvibes

They don't serve food and it's strictly 21 and up.

If anyone plans to be there January 23, 24, 25, or 26 let me know! I'd love to meet up and say hello to a fellow DISer! :cool1:

Just a reminder, Florida law is if you don't serve food, you can allow smoking. Jellyrolls allows smoking.

Jellyrolls was $8 per person when we were there last month. We felt it was well worth it though! :sunny:

It was a blast when we have gone in the past. The audience really does get into it, and the piano players are really good. There are 2 teams of 2, so there is always music. The rotate with each other.
Go, you'll love it.

and OMG it is smokey for sure. You have to come back and wash your clothes out or you put them in a plastic bag and take them home. They reek..

I went in September and it was really fun. Two piano players....you write a request on a napkin, drop it on their piano with a tip. They will get around to each one. If they already played it, they will return your napkin with the tip. Lots of singalongs and plenty of fun later in the evening after everyone has had some drinks :rotfl:

That is one reason why I have never gone in. It sure does seem like alot of fun but the smoke isn't a good thing for me

Jellyrolls is a blast.

Yes, you smell the smoke in your clothes the next day, but honestly, we don't notice while we're in the place.

what can I request? I am 27, and my choices for music on the radio are pop/adult alternative. I love when a band makes a cheesy lounge act cover of a song. Like Ben Folds Five covering some songs,

When I was there, they played A LOT of 80's music....Billy Joel, Bon Jovi, Journey, Elton John, etc.

Can't wait to go back in April!

When I was there in 2000, they played a wide mix including Bare Naked Ladies (If I had a million dollars) and the song Baby Got Back. So I'm pretty sure they can play ANYTHING, even stuff that's really, really new!

How many requests can I make? After paying the $16 for us to get in, small tips for songs do not seem like much.

Jellyrolls is tons of funs and the singalongs are even more fun. I went there in 2001 and closed the place. I would go back in a heart beat and sadly this past trip did not have enough days to go.

Also I think you can make as many requests as you want. The type of music will somewhat depend on what people are requesting kinda like a karaoke.
