Jellyrolls should feel flattered, right?

I just discovered that Jellyrolls has inspired someone on another VMK board
to practically copy her game. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right?
This girl opened her game on 3/20, the day before Rolls won Best Game room.

I didn't take out the player's name in the screen shot. Here's the photo again:

Well GMTA. I have a game similar to JellyRolls game which is made in the same room and set up almost the same. My game opened in January though I only had it open about 5 times and didn't have much luck with getting people to come to it. I actually thought of the game the day the doors came out because I had a birthday party for my husband on vmk and I used the doors to play the game in the party room. I only use 8 doors in my game but it is sort of the same idea.
BTW Congrats Jelly! Woot Woot!
Lady :)

I actually came up with the game idea when the doors came out. ElectricLime and I were talking one day, and we both kind of came up with the idea at the same time. I was waiting to see if he was going to do something with him, and when he didn't, I did it.

I wonder who did that game. Wonder if it's someone who came to my room a lot (I had a lot of repeat visitors).

She better not be giving out free boogies ;)

I suppose it's also possible that the person also came up with the game, she might not have been first, but you never know. It is more likely this new person copied, but it's still a possibility that she did come up with it.

There are such a limited amount of things you can do with the items in the game, it is not surprising people think of the same thing. I remember lady's game and it was very similar, but alas, no boogies and no GREEN CHAIR! It is all how you market and advertise your game and more power to you if you can fill the room and get staff there! We are all bound to have the same ideas of each other, cuz we are all so smart and creative!! :thumbsup2 Congrats again Rolls!

Yes, it's true that she could have come up with it on her own, but I find
the timing to be a little too coincidental. ;)

I didn't know Lady had a similar room, so yes, I agree that people probably
could have come up with it on their own, too.

isn't that your room because the only way to have those to options in the bottom of the "i" box is if the room is your own

otherwise you just have a button to report

Briar,
  1. You have all the editing options
  2. That person looks strangely familiar
  3. No one else is in the room

Fess up, copy cat. ;)

Well to stop this here, and to stand up for my (non copyright infringing) friend. Things are not as they always seem, It's as simple as pulling the picture off another site that was placed there by the true owner of the room. Every now and then we must look past the obvious conclusions and give our friends a little more credit. :rotfl2:

And to get back on subject, Yes she should be flattered. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, unless your in the coporate world and then it is called copyright infringment. :rotfl2:

I have seen another room like this. Stinky VMK game copiers!
and if they did hand out free boogies, it won't be the same as jellyrolls boogies

I pulled the picture from another fan site, as the owner of the room did
her own screen shot.

However, I did NOT remove her name, as the Mods pointed out to me in
private messages. Since that would be considered flaming, I had to edit
out the player's title. :)

The owner of that room will be bummed when she starts to really play with that room. when you take up and the doors and put them back down they default to face the other direction... so that means she would have to place all the doors then rotate them all to get the above configuration... making the time between games very long.

I think everybody did a room like that when the doors first came out!

Honestly I have seen the same idea in other rooms too. Its not the game itself that makes Jellyrolls game so successful though. Its her fun and welcoming attitude and the playful atmosphere in the room, not to mention of course the boogies that make everyone so happy! :rotfl:

Thanks for the kind words, Jewel. I almost feel bad for messing with you the other night now ;)

It was news to me that everyone else thought of that game. LOL!
I stand corrected!

But Jewel is right. Jellyrolls is much cuter than mean old me. :)

Briar I have really done a great job of training you.

That was my point...when the doors came out, lots of people did room like that. But too make it a best guest/game room you have to have that little something extra that makes it special.
