Jedi Training Strategy?

Hi,

My son really wants to do the Jedi Training Academy at DHS this year. We normally rush to TSM at rope drop, but I understand that you now have to sign up the Jedi training as early as possible. What is the best rope drop strategy?

Easy.

1. You and son get in Jedi sign ups line as early as possible.

2. Your significant other goes and gets fast passes for TSM at rope drop.

3. You meet at Sounds Dangerous (where you're likely being signed up) and go ride Star Tours standby together (likely with no wait).

Get to rope drop early and if cm allows sign up prior to park opening. I am hearing reports that they are allowing you to sign up while in the rope drop line!

Yes, this is what I meant. Good clarification. You want to wait in the Jedi sign up pre-rope drop line near Hollywood and Vine. You may be able to be signed up before rope drop if you're there early enough. At rope drop, the line migrates to Sounds Dangerous for completing the sign-up process.

Yes, the young Padawan must be present. If you're eating before RD, the rule still applies. Someone from your party will want to get into line. I've not seen any exceptions.

I guess the reason I'm asking is b/c if people can sign up before rope drop at rope drop, won't that put them ahead of me? or do they just allow them to get into the sign up line before Rope drop??

If you are entering before RD to eat breakfast, you either change your plans, or do like us and gobble breakfast quickly, then get in the pre rope-drop sign up line as soon as they start taking names (which is around 8:30 on a 9:00 opening day).

Do they have a sign that says presign up or do you just have to hunt around for a person with a clip board? We did this 2 years ago and I don't remember a pre sign up. We did what one of the previous post said. One to Star wars Jedi training and one to TSM to get fast passes. Then once on the list, we could get out and ride the star wars ride. (a person holding the place)

Good question. We did Jedi Training academy on 12/24/2010 and we had to sign up outside the star tours ride. We lined up outside of 50's prime time and a CM walked us over at rope drop.

I have never heard of presign up. Is this new?

We are going 12/16-12/25 this year so I want to be prepared. My kids love this.
