Jedi Training Signup, TSMM in AM without FP?

We have hoppers and plan to do HS in the AM and MK in the PM. We will save our 3 FP for MK in the evening. Is it possible, if we arrive at the park 45 minutes before opening, to sign up for Jedi Training and then head to TSMM without a LONG wait? Would also like to squeeze in Star Tours and some character meet and greets. We have the use of SDFP availability if needed.

Hope you get a response because the question should also be asked if there was a possibility on a medium crowd level day to do anything other than signup first and still have a shot at getting a spot before late afternoon. I think many families face this same issue and stress about their first moves in the Studios on any given morning.

When are you going? I think that TSM is managable from a line perspective most of the time. I actually think it might even be best to do TSM after signing up and seeing characters - we would probably do JTA sign ups (finish by 9:15 if you are there that early) - we would also pick a fairly early morning time for this. then ride star tours and see the star wars movie (it's 10 minutes once it starts), and then do JTA, then head over to visit Launch Bay and then after lunch do TSM. I almost think that the mornings are the most crowded at TSM because everyone without a FP is trying to ride 'before the lines are huge' as well as those with FP.

Or maybe your trip will be after the 3rd track is open? In which case hopefully everything will be okay then?

We will be there in October, and yes, at the park VERY EARLY! Think you might be right and we will most likely try for a TSMM FP for around when many others will be eating lunch and do all Star Wars stuff in the morning. We are also planning another early morning in the park, so we can split FP between attractions and wait in standy when necessary. Thanks!

That would be great if they continue this!

Do you think riding TSMM standby after lunch is doable with a 20 minute or less wait? I figured it to always have a long wait. I have plenty of time to figure this out, just trying to work on possible ADRs so planning our meals and parks. With all the changes coming this summer this has been difficult!

No, TSMM is only doable with a short wait first thing, unless 3rd track changes things. It is usually an hour to 90 min. wait all day(sometimes up to 180 min. on very busy days). I think if you plan to be there early and try to get signed up for Jedi training beforehand, and go right to TSMM, then do your Star Wars meet and greets, then hit Star Tours(of course you will have to plan around Jedi timing, but it is right by Star Tours - if you get to pick your time, you could pick a show around 10:30-11:00 to give yourself time to do a few of these things before crowds.) If you want to make an ADR, I would do it for around 12:00- 12:30 to give yourself time to do your list first. We like to do Sci-Fi, if you haven't been before it is a fun atmosphere in a drive in theater set up, and has great milkshakes!

My sister and her family did it this morning. Crowds were moderate, maybe a bit light. We arrived 50 minutes before RD, were let in through the turnstiles just about 8:40, then held until 8:50 and then walked to the rides. We went to TSMM, they went to sign up for JTA. They did the signup, met Kylo Ren and Chewbacca, then rode TSMM with a 30 minute wait, all complete by 10:15. Had they skipped the character meet and rode with us on our second time around right after signup, they would have had a 20 minute wait. So, if you get are there on a 3/4 rated day, it might work.

What are the time slots for JTA? With the 3rd track opening this might be what we do!

Jedi shows are all throughout the day, about every half hour, starting around 10:00, and going till 7:00 at nt.. So about 20 shows a day, and around 24-30 kids in each show. So if you sign up first thing, you can usually pick any available show, so you could pick one around 10:30 - 11:00, and go do the other things you want to get done until then, as PP did, then head to your lunch ADR.
