Okay I have been told they line the kids up by height, two lines. How do you manage to get in the line for Darth Vader vs Seventh Sister. We leave tomorrow and will be going to HS on Wednesday for the first time. We have a 4 yr old who is all excited about battling Darth Vader, he could care a less about the Seventh Sister.

I do know to get to the park early. That they open up the farthest left side gate 20 -30 minutes before the park opens.

Thanks for the help.

There is a picture in one of the posts showing the line up position. The side closer to the rope/lake is supposed to fight Vadar. You can try to line up on the side that usually fights Vader. They do the height line up within that line before they march head to the stage. But there is no guarantee unfortunately - good luck!

Even if you do follow the advise things can happen. My DD was in the right line but the kids started to bunch up when they got to the stage. The CM just put them in places and DD ended up with the group fighting 7th Sister. She still really enjoyed it though even though none of us know who 7th Sister is. It's probably good to make sure your child is prepared for either outcome.

They moved their line up points a bit last weekend. No idea if it's temporary or perm.
They were closer to the 50's Prime Time, right up against the building.
The line nearest the building was for Seventh Sister.
So it's still the same when you reach the stage, line on left facing stage, Seventh Sister. Line on right, facing stage, fights Vader.
I agree with PPs though, there are times when the kids get reordered to new lines. Not often but it does happen. So don't get their hopes up too much

We did it on Monday Nov 28 with 2 boys. We got to the check in place and actually had no idea where to go then saw a group of kids sitting on the ground by 50s prime time. Walked over there and it was right at our check in time. The dots on the ground were about half full and I noticed 2 together on the front row and had my boys sit there. They had no idea why I chose that row but I knew they would appreciate fighting vader a little more. And it worked that way. They had parents hold their kids hands as we walked to the stage. They let the parents go once we got to the stage. Some stuck around perhaps to make sure their kid stayed in the right line.

So all front row fought Vader? I feel like I read so much that it's all mixing up in my head. We leave in a few weeks and this has changed so much since the last time we were there! My daughter wasn't old enough last time and she has been talking for two years about fighting him.

It's not really as complicated or hard to figure out as it sounds.
The problem is trying to identify left/right. Front/back. You have to use a point of reference so everyone is talking about the same right and same left. Same front/back. Really, try not to use front/back and that's much harder to identify.
If you are at the sign up spots, near the 50's Prime Time, Indy Jones store, etc look at the 2 lines by standing and facing the kids, with your back to the Indy Show theater.
The lines to your left are Vader, to your right are 7th Sister.
The lines will then walk down to the stage and if you stand and face the stage, the lines on the right are Vader and the lines on the left are 7th Sister
The sides change because you are facing a different direction.
So much harder to explain in writing than it is if you are there. Once there it will make perfect sense.
Also, go look at the stage first. It will help it make sense. Realize that the kids that walk up on the stage are fighting Vader. The kids that fight the 7th Sister are on the lower platform. When you look at it that way it will make perfect sense which lines fight who.

That actually made a lot of sense to me and cleared up some of my confusion!! Thank you for taking the time to respond!!!

You should have it figured out. The only reason. I said front/back was when we first walked over there and the CM'S were not yet lining them up, the kids were sitting on the dots facing towards their parents and away from 50s prime time. So front/back made more sense to me than left/right. One person had mentioned the kids closest to the wall will fight 7th sister so that's the point of reference I used!

So our son got to do this twice. Thanks for all the info. The first time he ended up with 7th Sister. This was our doing. I sent him with my husband for check in. Despite clear instructions, he took him to the stage not check in. Because of this they got there a few minutes late after being re-directed. The look on my little guy's face when he realized he was not going to face Darth Vader was heart breaking, despite my trying to make him understand ahead of this might be the case (4yrs old). The next time they moved him out of Vader into 7th Sister, attempting to keep him in the same line as his sister, who did not want to face Vader. They do this it seems for photo reasons. When I told them how badly he wanted to be in the Vader group both kids were moved into that line. The cast members were great once they understood he had faced 7th Sister earlier in the trip and wanted nothing more than to face Vader. This and eating at Cinderella's Castle were by far the highlights if the trip for him

We did JTA last friday. When checking in to our show the parents dropped off the kids to the Cm's working the desk and then the kids were told to pick a blue circle to sit on. Meaning that the parents couldn't direct the kids on where to sit. My son picked a circle closer to the rope and not the building. They then re-organized them by height. He was still in line closer to the rope at the check in area. When walking to the temple stage he was in the line on the right hand side and the line closest to Star Tours when we got to the stage. They took that line to the top stage and he fought Vader. We picked a night show because the weather looked a little rainy in the morning. It was very cool because the light sabers glowed but with the lighting some of the pictures we took looked a little yellow. Another extremely helpful tip is to show him the routine on youtube so he knew the moves beforehand. He didn't pay much attention to the "instructions" from the preview because he is after all four years old, but he was very comfortable in the fight because he already knew the moves

Just an update to this. When we arrived for the first show last Sunday, the points where the kids line up were moved up as you describe. We were told they do this in the morning, then later in the day when the sign ups are lighter, they move them back. Taking tips from here, we were able to get ours in to fight Vader. The line up is pretty simple. The line closest to the open street fights Vader, the line closest to the wall will fight Seventh Sister. We did explain to the CM lining them up how obsessed ours was with fighting Vader and she directed us to the outside line. She did say no guarantee though.

I'm taking my 7 and 5 year old boys in a few months and they want nothing more then to be part of the Jedi training academy. Any tips, hints, suggestions, for signup??? I heard it goes super fast!!! Any info would be greatly appreciated!!! TIA :)

Are they strict about being at least 4 years old to take part in Jedi Training Academy? My grandson will be 4 years old in October but the plan is to go to WDW in September. Will he be able to participate or not? Do you have to show proof of age? Thank you for any information!

They are strict about the age. They do not ask for proof but they do ask for age.

Get to HS about 45 to 60 min before it opens, go straight to sign ups when the park opens. You'll be fine

We r going a few years back, it was our first time, they lined them up by height. My guy was 4 also at the time and because he was short and younger they put them on stage and fought Vader. I have to say for me it was the high light of the trip for me.

Thank you all so much! We are going in 2 weeks and my boys are so excited to do JTA. I've told them they might have to fight 7 sister, so they are prepared, but I love the tips getting them maybe a better chance to fight Vader.

We arrived mid-day on 2/11 for our first day and they still had late afternoon openings. Crowds were very light that day though. I'd suggest trying on an EMH day. If you go on a regular day, pre-opening breakfasts have the opportunity to book before the park opens.
