I thought this was only on during Star Wars weekends. Having looking at the entertainment schedule for next week see that this is on DHS.

So should we expect this to be on in the summer as I had convinced DS that we would miss SW by a week :)

I think that this is now a permanent attraction. It was on when we went in Oct.

The Jedi training is on all the time now. If you wanted your son to be in it recommendations I have seen in the past were for your son to be at the front, wear a bright t-shirt and be very animated when they are picking people. Some people also make signs that they hold for their child, like "The force is strong in this one!"
Good luck, it looked really cool when we saw it at Disneyland, so much fun that DH wanted to join in!

Thank you. I have one very happy DS now :goodvibes I suspect that his DD's may also try to get picked :cool1:

its permenant - our son got picked last Oct:lovestruc he was wearing a Jedi training cap we got in the Star Wars gift shop next door and a Star Wars t-shirt. We got to the area about 40 minutes early, stood on the line so he was at the front (he's only 5!) so the bigger kids were behind him and it was a scrum when they chose the kids but the hat clinched it:thumbsup2

check out my trip report in the sticky (trip reports 2005 onwards) to see the pics I took.

It made his YEAR! to be chosen.

There are 4 shows a day I think.

We went to four of these before my nephew was finally picked. It made his day but it did mean everything else was on hold until he'd been picked, and three bouts of very disappointed tears.

Thankfully although DS would be disappointed he would take it in his stride :goodvibes

From what i've read on the DL boards (this was permanent in DL before WDW) kids are more likely to be chosen if they're in a Star Wars costume, T-shirt/other clothing or have a sign. We didn't get round to watching, I think my bf would have been jealous of the kids being chosen

DS got picked in October but I was so nervous, he is, along with DH, a massive star wars fan so I was so worried he would be so upset if he didn't get chosen.

A couple of boys right next to him got chosen first but then he did and I was so happy, he was truly in his element and we have some great footage.

The photopass photographers take photos too so we ended up with about 50 just of this Jedi Training Academy and they get a cerificate afterwards too so we have a photo of a very proud 8 year old holding up his certificate.

As has been mentioned already as a good idea he wore a star wars t-shirt and was at the front (DH was behind him to make sure he wasn't shoved out the way ;) ).

We went to the first one of the day so that probably helped alot.

Good luck :thumbsup2
