Would be so much better if Disney did sign ups via a phone reservation with credit card guarantee like they do with Bippity Boppity Boutique or the Pirates League. I just don't understand why a more efficient and less stressful sign up method hasn't been implemented for this yet. The masses of people running to the sign up location when they let people enter the park in the morning is certainly a sight to see; and the long line for the sign ups isn't very efficient. In spite of all this, JTA was definitely a trip highlight for DS8 and DD10. It was an amazing experience for them. We selected an afternoon check in and show time so that they would be able to do JTA after our Hollywood & Vine lunch. We were the second family to show up for the check in time and DD10 and DS8 were placed in the line against the rope and were in the group that fought Darth Vader :thumbsup2.

Because they need to see and talk to the kid.

That's understandable, but considering that part is very brief and only a few questions (how old are you, can you follow directions, and are you brave enough to be a jedi master), I wonder if that can be done and added as part of the check in process before the show since you have to be there 20-30 min before the show starts anyway (and parents can get advised of those questions when the reservation is made like how you are given the run down when making PL or BBB reservations)? Even if that idea doesn't work, I think Disney can come up with other ways to test out for these sign ups to be more efficient than how they are done now, that's JMHO .

Agree 100%. And honestly the questions mean nothing. Many a child has answered "yes" to following directions, and then gone on stage and NOT followed directions.
