Okay....so I know this may be a long shot...but here we go. In September, my boyfriend and I and 2 other couples will be in Disney World for 2 weeks! Everyone is super stoked, but the most exciting part is that my boyfriend has never been to Disney! He is very very excited and he is also one of the biggest Star Wars nerds around! We've been teasing him about the Jedi Training Academy and that we want him to sign up (we are all aware that this is only for children). He was so bummed when we finally broke the news that it's only for kids. On Saturday, we were messing around on YouTube and found a clip of ADULTS fighting Darth Vader! He is now insistent that he finds a way to do this...even though I think deep down he knows he can't. The adults in the Academy took place on Star Wars Day (May 4) during a Limited Time Magic promotion (I'm not sure when that was). What do you think the odds are of speaking to Disney and arranging something for him to do this? It will be the biggest and best surprise for him!!!:love:

Last year for limited time magic parents were allowed to participate in Jedi Training Academy with their child.

I'd say the odds would be zero. Adults were never allowed to participate on their own.

Which is kind of bizarre when you think about it because I know far more men in their 40s who worship Star Wars than kids these days. Because children of the 70s. :rotfl:

If they did a Princess Leia / Jabba the Hutt meet and greet, every dad from here to California would be in line.

Oh, that is a bit of a bummer. The video that we watched didn't have any kids in it. I completely understand why they wouldn't allow adults to do it on their own but I figured it might be worth a shot anyway!

Oh my gosh, that is too funny and SO TRUE! My boyfriend will be 32 next month and he is such a goon for Star Wars. He wished my mother a "Happy Star Wars Day" yesterday and her response was "and how old are you again?" LOL :rotfl:

If I had a quarter for every time my husband and teens said "May the Fourth Be With You" yesterday, I could fund a WDW trip. At the GF. :rotfl:

On a regular day or Star Wars weekend, nope, never. They are strict about the age limit being 4-12.

There was a limited time magic last year where some adults were able to participate, but that was it.

And, after that Limited Time Magic "adults in JTA" event, it's been reported adults will never be allowed to take part again. Mainly for safety reasons.

When I was thirteen I went in full jedi gear and a sign that said, "the force is strong with this one" and still didn't even get picked.:worried:
I think they thought I was a little too old, but my two- year old patience went a little nuts so I was pretty upset. I wish they'd let older people participate, but sadly they do not. :worried:
