Sunday, October 3, Day 9
Our last day! This trip went by so fast, I can't believe it. We got up and got ready for the day. I went down to check out from our package and back in for our room-only ressie for tonight. Chris and the boys met me in the lobby, and we bought a bag of diapers, because we had only one left. $9.00 for a bag of 14 huggies, which wasn't as bad as I expected, not that it mattered.
The MK bus was there when we got there, and we got right on it. At MK we got on the monorail over to the Contemporary. Breakfast at Chef Mickey's was very good. We saw all of the characters, first Chip, then Minnie (in the red dress again, lol), then Dale, Pluto, and finally Mickey, and Trev and I went to the buffet area to see Goofy again. Our server was William, we didn't see much of him. The food was great, character interaction very good, we were satisfied, no complaints except our absent server.
We walked over to MK, went through the turnstiles, and there was a huge mass of people. It was EE day today, and now it was around 10 am. We went in the Emporium, I bought a castle punch, then we went towards Dumbo, I wanted to ride it again. Huge line over there, so we went for Pooh; 25 minute wait there, and it was getting hot, so we decided to forget it and go back to Movies and swim one last time. We were the only ones on the bus, the driver was surprised we were ready to leave so early. I think we were so spoiled by low crowds the rest of our trip!
We had a good time swimming, then Trev and I returned his life vest. We went back to the room, Isaac was asleep and Chris had started packing things up. The boys napped and we finished packing except what we'd need that night and in the morning. About 3:30 or so, we were ready to go to MNSSHP. We were early for our PS, so we walked over to Fantasyland. Merlin was getting ready to start the Sword in the Stone Ceremony, so we watched that for a while. Isaac was fussy again, probably because it was so loud, so we went back over to the Liberty Tree Tavern and checked in, just as it started to rain lightly. We went inside to wait to be seated, the restaurant was really pretty inside. Trevor was a little unsure because the CM's had their faces painted for Halloween, and they were scary to him. In a few minutes we were seated. Our server was Mark, we liked him too. The food was great! We had salad and bread to start, then came the turkey, flank steak and ham, mashed potatoes, stuffing, mac & cheese, and carrots. We saw all the characters twice, Chip and Dale in their masks, Pluto with some kind of a scarf, Minnie in her mask, and Meeko without a costume. The interaction was good, food was good, we really enjoyed it. We talked with a server for another table, he was also from Ohio, about 40 miles away from us, and he knew our area. This is where I stopped writing in my journal, so it gets fuzzy; I'll do the best I can!
We walked out of LTT, it had started to rain a little more, still not bad. We went to the Baby Care center to change Isaac, then walked slowly to Tomorrowland. We got our picture taken, then walked around a little while. I had wanted to see the Mousekarade, so we waited for it to start, but Trevor didn't want to go with the other kids to dance, and Isaac was asleep again in the stroller, so we left there. Trev and I got in line for the Buzz ride, waited a few minutes, but the line was moving pretty well. We got up to get in the car, and it stopped. About 5 minutes later and several announcements that the vehicles would start any minute, and they got it fixed. The people in front of us got on, we stepped on the moving walkway, and it stopped again. Finally got in our vehicle, and off we went. We had fun, Trev got to shoot a gun this time, he got a whopping 200 points! I did better than the last time, but still not great. We had a good time, that's all that matters. When we came out it wasn't raining anymore, I don't really know when it stopped. We went to see Cinderella's Surprise Celebration, didn't get real close, but we saw most of it. That was pretty good, we hadn't seen it yet this week. I wanted to ride the teacups, so Trev and I did while Chris and Isaac waited, then we went on Pooh. We got through about the first two scenes, and it stopped. After about 10 minutes or so, a worker came through and took the back off our car and worked on it, then went to try and restart the ride, but it wouldn't go. They finally escorted us and everyone else off the ride, and gave us fast passes to use later. At least we got to see the rest of it, walking through. I still hadn't gotten to ride Dumbo again, so we went over there, didn't have to wait too long, maybe 5 minutes. Trev and I were riding together again, and wouldn't you know, our Dumbo didn't work right! I tried to make it go up and/or down with the lever, but it just wouldn't budge. It did work at the end when they all go up in the air though. It was almost time for the fireworks, we found a spot close to the hub, and they were great! Stayed in the same spot for the parade, it was great as well! We saw the 10:00 one, and if that was the least crowded, I wouldn't have anted to see the 8 pm one. I didn't think the party would be so crowded, but maybe we were just where the crowds were, I don't know. We had done pretty much everything we wanted to do, except trick or treat, so we went back to Tomorrowland and got a bag for Trevor, and he trick or treated some. I got his picture in front of the Buzz candy handout, because he was dressed as Buzz Lightyear. A couple more stops for candy, then we got him the last Mickey Bar, and started up Main Street. Stopped in the Emporioum to exchange a cup we bought earlier in the evening for Isaac that didn't have all the pieces, and when we got to the end of Main Street, there were several characters with very short lines! We saw Daisy, Darkwing Duck, Scrooge McDuck(?), and one other, and then we said goodbye to MK for the last time this trip. It was time to go. We thought it was as great end to a great trip, and we hope to come back soon!
