Day 8:
We decided that we had better head over to AK and see the opening ceremony before Jackie burst a chip or circuit. We missed it the previous 2 times we tried to catch it. We get there in plenty of time and manage to see it. Not very impressive, we were expecting more because we have read here on the DIS that it was something special. After getting into the park and inspecting some very interesting cockroaches and tarantulas we headed to the Safari trek. Going first thing in the morning did make a difference we saw many more animals closer to the vehicle. It made the trip that much more enjoyable. We then went on Kali River Rapids and were allowed to go on twice without getting off. I assume it was because Sara is to small to ride without the special seat (it has a bar that close on it) and not every car has one and because the line was so short. We had such a short wait I barely had time to take off my shoes before getting on the raft. My sister had been on this ride and was disappointed because they didnt get wet she must have gone during dry season because we got soaked. Absolutely drenched it was hysterical!! We then hit the Maharajah Jungle Trek. After that it was back to Its Tough to Be a Bug, my favorite 3D show and then lunch. We ate at Pizzafari and enjoyed a quiet lunch. After lunch we were off to Epcot.
The first thing we went to when we got to Epcot was the security check FUN WOW. After that was Ellens Energy Adventure. Fun show but the most interesting thing was how big the cars were. Then to Body Wars and Cranium Command. Both were loved by my kids. All rides were walk-ons. Next we decided to hit the World Showcase. Went to Mexico and rode El Rio del Tiempo. Next was a stop in China for the kids stop. Last was Italy. Another kids stop and watch the Masquerade. We tried to make reservations for the Luau at the Poly for our final dinner at WDW but we were told it was sold out. We settled on the Kona Café instead. That was a great choice as it ended up being our best meal of the trip. After dinner we went to the room, changed and went to the pool. There were more people at the pool then than at any other time we had gone before. There still were only about 20 kids and 6 adults using the pool at this time so it still seemed deserted. We head back to the room at about 9:30 and pack. Our last night in WDW for this vacation. We leave at 8:00am the next morning. A flawless departure.
