JCPenney just sent me a coupon (I knew it wouldn't last).

Well, it has happened -- that was quick. JCPenney just sent me a coupon. This one is a special-use coupon (extra free prints if I have photos taken), but I'm guessing that we'll be seeing additional coupon creep soon.

The first sign that the new strategy wasn't working as well as expected for them was a text message that I got around the 15th of Feb, suggesting that I hadn't visited the store in a while. (Actually I had, but hadn't purchased anything because I find that the selection on the selling floor is no longer as wide as it once was.)

I got the same thing for the portrait studio. I still love JcPenney and yup I love Ellen too!

For some reason I thought I read somewhere that they were still going to send an occassional coupon to credit card holders or VIP members or some such group.

The potrait studio told me at the beginning of this month that they were lowering their prices to make them the same as if you had used on of the old coupons and that they aren't going to have coupons anymore.

When is the coupon good until? We want to get DD's 6 month pictures taken there again. I hope I get a coupon that's good around then.

Last night I bought towels and flatware online and I thought the prices were excellent. Because of the total, I received free shipping. It was so nice not to have to Google for coupons.
OP, I would look on the coupon as lagniappe.

The portrait studio coupon doesn't surprise me as they are not actually owned by JC Penney, rather by Lifetouch. J.C. Penney and Target both subcontract this service.

I'm actually going to miss the coupons as I used to only shop there when I'd get the $10 off $10 coupons (I usually got one every other month) and no way, no how am I going to beat my last year's scores of a Men's bathing suit for 50 cents or wicking T-shirts for 99 cents with their new pricing policy.

We get our daughters picture taken every month. We want to do a 12 picture collage of her first year. The girl at the Penny's photo studio told us to watch for groupons. Oh boy have we gotten some fabulous deals. Not sure if they are regional, but the last one I redeemed was $25 and included 7 sheets including the "fancy" collages. Just an FYI

I also got a coupon from the JCP Portrait Studio - free sitting fee plus free 8x10 print. I'm sure they want to get you in to buy more, but it's a pretty good deal. I might just use it!
