JB - Credit ?

One of my fares in December went from $137. to $79. so I called to see about a credit and was told that being that this was a one day sale price, they do not give credits. Called again and was told the same thing by another agent.
Anyone one else had this experience?

Did you try to change your ticket online? I wouldn't even bother calling for changes, if you can do it, you can do it online in most cases. If you cannot do the change, it's restricted for one reason or another.

With JB you must call for a credit, cannot be done online.

Called back after midnight, figured the sale is now over, but the lower prices are still listed and received the credit.

I have never had to call on JetBlue. I just go online, click change flight, reselect the same flight and it rebooks it at the lower cost, with no change fee. I receive an e-mail shortly later with the information.
 

Yes, I was told a similar rule recently. It was an internet sale. (not sure if it was one day or not). When I called they told me they could only give me a credit if the same price was available by phone, which it wasn't. I saw yesterday's one day sale and wondered if that same rule applied. I guess it does. I figured since they have so few rules in terms of their credits, I was OK with it. But it still never hurts to call just in case the rule changes.

That would be so much easier. I'll have to give it a try next time. Does the credit just go into your trueblue account or does it go into each of the ticket holders account?

It goes into a Jet Blue Travel Bank account. The funds are transferrable and must be used within 12 months of the date the credit is applied (this is different then SWA where the credit is based on the date the ticket was purchased).

Thanks, but am wondering if you buy your ticket and a companions' ticket, does the entire credit still go into the person who purchased, or does each of the travelers get their own credit. The reason I ask is whenever I call to get a JB credit, I always make sure the entire credit goes to my travel fund to avoid lots of credits between us.

ALSO, do you know if you buy your tickets with your JB FF points and the price drops, can you get a credit back into your trueblue account of the rewards points....seems weird (if you buy your flight with 6200 points, and then the price drops to 5200 points), but I'm finally to the point where I have enough JB points to buy a ticket now and noticed that their amount of points seems to be related to the current price of the flight.

We bought five tickets under one confirmation number and when we completed the change it placed all the funds under one travel account linked to the first person's name. So in your case it would be all applied to the primary traveler and the companion credit would be placed there too, assuming all were under the same confirmation number. Here is my travel account for the five tickets I was talking about:

Getting dozens of credits on JB over the years (calling) I wonder if this program started with the new True Blue earlier this year?

Possibly, I just started using JetBlue (I traditionally fly Continental) more frequently and found the who ease of doing the change online very simple (I actually didn't know it was possible at first, but I did the change and it worked without a hitch).
