I vaguely remember from our trip about 10 years ago, getting on Jaws and my sister getting scared to death because the shark at one point was so close to her. But I can't remember where she was sitting. Does anyone know if you go in first or last to be closet to the shark? I would love to have my step-brother sit there, as it's his first trip ever to Orlando and I know he would get a kick out of it. Thanks!

Any other tips for a first timer? The rest of us haven't even been there in a long time.

We're down to 13 days before we leave! We are getting very excited.

Just got back yesterday and we loved this ride! The shark comes up on the left side- middle seating in the boat. Be wary of the right side now. One person gets drenched now on the right side and the row is random. EVERY time we rode it we got it! One time it was my 77 year old mother and she was NOT happy!:rotfl2:

Oh no! I hope she still enjoyed it.

Thanks for the info! Now I can put my step-brother on the left and my boyfriend and sister on the right. Then I can laugh at them all (hopefully!!) at the same time. :lmao:

The shark comes up at both sides of the boat. In the finale scene, it's on the left side of the boat. In the boathouse, it's on the right.

The boathouse would be good because if you sit on the right, you are so close to the shark AND it's there that you can get soaked by sitting on the right.

Yeah, but at the end you get two Shark Encounters on the left. It also gets you fairly wet, and hot.....

I was on this ride myself and cannot remember most of it? Would this ride be ok for a 5 year old? Or too scary? thanks.

Depends on your definition of "too scary". Does your 5 yr old hide their eyes in Haunted Mansion? Or does your 5 yr old laugh at the creepy music on Tower of Terror, and yell to everyone "NOW YOU PAY WITH YOUR SOULS!" ?
Or is that just my five year old who does that?
There is a big shark inthe water. It comes clear that he wants to eat your boat. You go in the dark, and he still wants to eat your boat. Fire erupts, and he still wants to eat your boat. You then see "chum".......without giving anything away, thats the ride....
My 5 yr old loves it, but then hides her eyes on Spiderman.....go figure that one.

So, is Jaws just a 'scary' ride? In other words, no twists and turns or cause for motion sickness?

The left side is the better side as I recall since you can RERALLY feel the heat from the explosion on the left side . . . that plus the shark . . . . and to all you mates, we should call that the PORT side - the captain will feed us to Bruce if he hears us say "left" :rotfl2:
