Jaws - 35 years later

This is probably the best scary movie out there. It scared a lot of people getting into water. I still wont

I saw it when I was in HS with a friend of the family who also wanted to see it. We went to the base theater and the theater was packed. We ended up getting seated in different areas because by the time we got in, they were finding seats for people and we had to split up.

When "Bruce" came up out to the water, I really jumped and the guy next to me had to ask me if I was okay. I still remember that. When we got out, our moms asked if we were okay and we said yes, but they could tell it had kind of scared us. Thankfully not enough to keep us out of the water since we lived in CA and always went to the beach.

I have to say it was quite awhile before I associated the "Bad Hat Harry" Productions animation to the movie Jaws. It wasn't until I saw the movie again on tv after seeing the animation that I connected the two.

DS15, who is the Jaws lover, took about a nano second to make the Bad Hat Harry connection, when he saw their logo that is shown at the end of House. Of course, this was months after DH and I had seen it and we never put the two together.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is one of those movies that NEVER needs to be remade!!! EVER!!!!!!

I'm showing my age here, but I saw Jaws the summer it came out. I was twenty. Yeah, I'm old!

I went with my mother and some friends to an old theatre in Portland, Maine. We sat in the first row of the balcony and I vividly remember the entire audience jumping and yelling the first time the shark came out of the water.:scared1: There was a guy sitting next to me and I remember him literally jumping out of his seat.:rotfl:

The movie scared the heck out of all of us, especially because we lived in a coastal town and always spent summers on the beach. Jaws has always been one of my favorite movies and my own kids grew up loving it, too. I watch it at least once every summer.:)

I'll show my age too....I was 14 when it came out. I love this movie! We live in NY, Long Island, so we spent our summers in the Atlantic Ocean. From then on, all one of us had to do was hum the theme song to freak the others out!

A funny family story. My older brother was 18, had his own car so he was going to take me & my younger brother & 2 of my 3 younger sisters to see it. My parents felt bad for my little sister (she was about 3 & they didn't want her to see it), so they asked the next to youngest to stay home so Monica wouldn't be alone. So Madeline stayed home, the rest of us went to the movie. When we got home, talking about how great it was, Madeline wasn't happy. About 5 minutes after we left, Mo fell asleep! I just told Mo's daughters this story last weekend.

Oh gosh, I remember very well seeing Jaws when it came out. When the head pops out of the boat I had a large, full, cold drink in my hand which I threw straight up in the air. Luckily the people around me all had a great sense of humor about being baptized with diet coke.

I'm still frightened of the ocean.

I was mid-20's when it came out and I remember it like yesterday. There were very few special effects movies at that time, so this one really got your mind going.

Just saw it on TV last week and I loved seeing the Mayor's suits! Super cool at that time but it really sets the date for the movie!

I know I didn't jump and throw food over other people because we were poor students then. Great memories!

I was 4 when I saw this in the movie theatre..my aunt took me, along with my cousins. And I remember jumping up on the seat when the severed head popped out.

Back then, kids weren't so coddled..ended up seeing The Exorcist at 10, when it was shown on network TV the first time. Obviously, an edited version(no crucifix scene) but still scary, especially for a kid who went to Catholic school.
Lest you think my parents were horrible, the babysitter fell asleep, and my cousins and I watched it, even though we had been told not to..:scared1:

Both of these movies are classics and should NOT be remade.

It was the summer before my senior yr and I was visiting my sister in California and we went to see it. It was really neat to be a Midwest teen seeing that film in California. Glad we had already gone to the beach! But really where has the time gone?

I love seeing movies for the first time in the area they were made. Saw the first Rocky in Philadelphia and all the locals in the audience were yelling out things like that's my Aunts house.

I'd seen parts of it growing up, but watched it in full a couple of summers ago. Very well done for the time! I highly enjoyed it and recommended it to a lot of non-believers!

Side note- I remember watching Jaws 3 on VHS when it came out as a kid. We had a baby sitter over and got to watch it. I remember being freaked out and kept telling myself, we're not in water so don't worry...the shark cannot get me! Jaws 3 is so horrible!
