Disney just called to cancel my ADR's at the 'new' restaurant in Japan. Sooooo disappointed. They will not reopen until October now. They did let me choose another restaurant and gave us VIP passes for Fireworks that night wich is nice, but we really were looking forward to going there..

Oh no....I think we have ressies there last week of Sept. I was looking forward to it too....:sad2: Hopefully they will do same for us...

When was your ADR for? Mine is for 9/2 and I have been waiting for a call. Someone else in my GG has a backup just in case.

I got the call today, we were set for 08/27. Had to switch to something else and Le Cellier not available. We took Chefs de France. Did get the Fireworks VIP though.

Mine were for 8/25
We also switched to 'Chefs de France' as I had everything else I had wanted so it was tough to think of someplace off the top of my head.:confused3

saw you post and decided to be proactive. Called and, indeed, Teppan Edo will not be open until "later in the Fall", no exact date yet. We already have Le Cellier and so settled for Rose & Crown. We were also given ressies for the VIP viewing area for Illuminations that night.

Ok, Rose & Crown - any opinions?

This worked out ok for us as well. We ended up getting Coral Reef for dinner with seats for the special Illuminations viewing. I can't complain about the way that Disney handled this one.

We had 10/4 ADRs for Teppan Edo. I've called Disney Dining 3 or 4 time over the past week, and most recently 2 days ago. I was told then that Teppan Edo would open 9/15. I called back today after reading other people's experience as I didn't want to wait and limit my options. The CM confirmed that the re-opening would impact me and I was immediately transferred to a separate number that is handling the re-booking. The CM said there is no confirmed re-opening date but the target has been pushed out to November. I wonder if they are taking the entire place down and re-building from scratch. There is certainly something very wrong.

When I talked with the CM dealing with Teppan Edo re-booking I had my pick of pretty much any restaurant in EPCOT at prime dinner time. I have never had that many choices when making an ADR this close so they must have a reserve of reservations times they are holding for displaced Teppan Edo diners. The also said that everyone who is displaced is being given VIP viewing for Illuminations. I got a second confirmation number for that.

I was beginning to wonder if things were just falling apart with some things at Disney after the mis-communications over the past week but they did handle my re-booking very well. The CM was great too.

For those of you with Teppan Edo reservations in October I would call now and not wait for them to call you since they just extended the re-opening date beyond 9/15. Hope you have as good luck as I did.

When I read about the closing a few days ago, I called to make another reservation (I had an ADR for 9/13). They had NO reservations for anywhere in Epcot that night (not one!). I had to make an ADR for Spoodles, and we didn't want to leave Epcot. I called back today, and they sent me to a special CM who was handling the Japan reservations. She was magically able to find me a reservation for Rose & Crown at 6:00 which was the same time as our original one in Japan. We also received VIP seating for Illuminations.:yay: Call back if you have already called and didn't receive what you wanted. They have definitely set up a new system to handle this problem.

I agree. Call back if you did not get what you wanted.

After reading this thread, I went and called too. We are a party of 12 that had an ADR on 9/2 at 6:30-After being transferred from WDW-Dine to the special line I was able to get a table for 8@5:00 and a table for4@5:30 at Coral Reef.I was also offered the VIP seating for Illuminations that night. I hoping that if we show up together they can seat us at the same time if not at the same table.

Thanks so much for letting us know! I was able to change our ressies to LeCellier!!! for Sept 25 at 5:30pm (magically they had availibility!:wizard: ), and I got the priority seating for Illuminations. I'm excited! I will miss Japan, but I've been trying to get ressies for lunch for LeCellier since beginning of April. :cheer2:

Sorry I did not get back to you sooner....OUrs are for 9/23, but another person in our party has taken care of all our ADR....She probably received the call....and I was so looking forward to it:mad: I had never eaten there. Oh well, guess I'll just have to go back to experience it LOL
