Please tell me the pros and cons of going to Disney World in January? Thank you so much!

We went the last few days of Jan., first few of Feb. in '04.

Pros: crowds are light, weather is pretty much mild (though it flucuated from cold to hot that week).

cons: parks close early, it gets dark early, you have to pack both winter and summer clothes.

We loved January. Vowed we'd never go in summer. (famous last words, if you notice my countdown!)
I think January is one of the best times to go.


(do you have 8 kids, or friends and family going with you? I thought we were the only one crazy enough to take a crew!)

No, I do not have 8 children! In fact I have no children. It is a family group thing! My sis, 6 year old niece, 3 cousins, and 2 friends, as well as me!

We normally always went in March and I too was thinking of going the last week of January to the first week of February. It would be GREAT to celebrate DD's birthday there. I'm worried about the weather, doing the pools and water parks as well.

In March, I don't think MK was open late anyway. My thinking was that they closed around 7:00.

Let me know what you decide and if you go, please let me know how the weather was.
